    sideloading is not a thing. it is Just a word to make you feel guilty about installing software from other sources than the proprietary store. I wish journalists wouldn’t use this term anymore

        No, it’s not “just another install”

        It specifically means installing software from a safe source, like fdroid.

        Otherwise, you’d be getting it from some unsafe place like Google Play Store, which is loaded with spyware (which isn’t allowed when you install from safer sources like fdroid)

      It means “installing safe software”

      You have to do it on the side to avoid the fascists that want to ensure the software included spyware
