Nah, I’ve seen the hate-boner for Manjaro before and like clockwork, people like you feel justified in telling others what’s important to them.

Pragmatism > all else. At this point, the Manjaro hate is just a meme perpetuated by losers and those who can’t think for themselves.

Do you also tell people not to install Mint because they got hacked and hosted an .iso with malware? Probably not, because you don’t see others doing it and it doesn’t make you feel like you fit in.

    Fedora or Ubuntu

Completely different ecosystems, not replacements for Manjaro.

If they want something rolling, Arch

Yeah, no. Anyone with a brain and some experience this point realizes that people who recommend Arch as a replacement for Manjaro should not be taken seriously.

Goodbye man. Gonna block you now.

  • Immutability has always struck me as a fad.

Aside from declaring variables as FINAL or whatever because I know they won’t be changed, the mere idea of using it as a default just seems unnecessarily restrictive to me.

It feels like people who bog themselves down in theory to solve their problems instead of practicality think immutability is a godsend.

For everyone else, it doesn’t really matter at best or is an inconvenience at worst.

  • faster flip phones

I don’t think speed was a complaint anyone had about phones right before smartphones launched.

People were mostly concerned with cell phone plans. Talking used to be charged by the minute, texting was charged per text, and data was practically non-existent.

Cell phones have come a long way, but I think a lot of people take for granted just how much cell service has improved. I pay $25/month for a single line that gives me unlimited talk, text, and data (Visible). Couldn’t be happier.
