They have a paid version of the Nova launcher. I am certainly not a lawyer, but it also looks like they have a pretty clear privacy policy https://novalauncher.com/privacy/
I don’t currently use it, but it is a nice alternative if they aren’t doing anything fishy.
Do you have a website? I would never dream of installing a custom launcher without some form of documentation and screenshots.
This is a really interesting idea, but a password manager would throw a wrench in it.
I’d assume my password was invalidated or stored incorrectly, so I’d reset, then I’d try to log in, wtf… this website blows.
It’s not very sexy, but I just use SFTP and filezilla. Filezilla is available for all the major operating systems, and an ssh server is basically required anyways.
I enjoy Ubuntu server. At the end of the day I just want something simple. I run most of my services in docker compose, and zfs for the filesystem.
This reminded me of having to install a codec pack like klite or cccp as one of the first things on a fresh install. I’m glad that isn’t a thing anymore.
I’d like to go back with my memories, but might run into some sort of time cop situation. It’s a tough call.
Firefox is faster than ever, and I trust Mozilla a fair bit more than Google to not be shady with my data. The switch is painless, and ads these days cover what feels like over half the page… it’s insane.
I run ff on my phone and PC, with all the privacy settings maxed. Ublock also works on Android and makes those trashy BuzzFeed style sites readable.
