They test a LOT of the packages from what I understand. Not a good or bad thing but it does make things harder to update as time goes on.

Yep. And more distros support so theres more incentive to fix any issues that have popped up. Plus theres more c devs in the world than rust.

Im so happy work stopped using ubuntu server after last time.
Also how the heck do you break cp of all things.
I dont want to experiment with core utils.

Nginx.
It runs everything at home and at work.
Same. Its somewhat useful on some very small scripting or tasks…but its mostly just to try out a new model or two. Its not really useful for anything big.
I will have to say…even my tiny models are about as good as Chatgpt/Claude/etc… which makes me think about how much people are spending on tokens regularly. I was able to get the same kind of python script started with my local tiny model that was comparable to the newest Claude code offerings.
I have the 6a. It was getting hot quite often. Then I learned they could explode…! Im not getting injured because of my stupid phone. Had to get a new phone.
The pixel line sucks in my opinion.
The screenshot really should have a cat photo on it.
Looks great! GL!
Windows has better accessability features than linux does. Itsn ot talked about much but ive been in meetings with people with disabilities, survivors of accidents, etc… and Windows is the only real option. If you are blind there are standard programs that they use.
Its the one area i think linux could use real work. A couple of places ive put in pull requests to help out from time to time.
Otherwise linux is generally better ;)

I wonder if someone is trying out an AI or something and seeing the results. Then deleting. More evidence will pop up eventually.

It sticks around in other software just FYI. Maybe lemmy should have something that admins can do? Maybe something super admins can re-instate if a mod states should be un-deleted? I dunno.
Found them! https://mastodon.social/@mntmn
Lots of open hardware here https://shop.mntre.com/products/mnt-reform
They are on the fediverse if i recall.
Learning is fine. Its not too much different than other development if you have ever worked on java.
That being said if i had to make an app, i would just make a mobile site and call it a day. That way you can have iphone and any computer work with it.
neat phone.

Theres a group also trying to make open source insulin. Cause if your going to die without insulin and your in a bad spot why not.
I wish it wasnt a thing but its a US issue popping up last 10 years.

Something similar https://fourthievesvinegar.org/
They have open hardware and processes for human health purposes. Never tested thier solutions though.

We have a couple near us. We bought a SNES/nes combo device and got a ton of old games. It was fun getting my wife and I childhood games.
