51·3 months agoIt makes the former possible but you still meed to keep up on privacy hygiene. Check out privacyguides.org to help you with that. Privacy is a spectrum, so the trick is finding where you want to be and assesing what you have to sacrifice to do so.
It’s crazy the peace of mind you get from it.

Running opnsense here and just plain having my own firewall is the coolest thing.

Just be sure to read up on network security and set yourself up for success! Even tunnels can still be an attack surface. Always keep everything up to date! And plan for the worst case.
