I was unaware that it was supposed to transfer chat history. It’s never once done it for me. I assumed it was like other platforms I’ve used where it doesn’t sync your history unless you backup and restore.

I’m curious what do you find horrible about it? I use it all the time and have zero issues with it.
I’m here giving it a try since I was using Sync Premium for Reddit for a long time before leaving Reddit. I was initially using the Voyager (WefWef) PWA and liked it a lot but definitely giving this a solid shot since I liked the Reddit one a ton. If I end up sticking around in the Fediverse and in Sync I might drop the $20 USD to remove adds and support the devs.
As someone who has to administer several hundred Windows servers and several thousand Windows workstations in our fleet (alongside our Linux and Mac systems), I was very sad that winget was not as good as I had hoped for. Chocolatey is still far better IMO, and neither is anywhere near as good as apt, rpm, etc.

4·1 year agoABSOLUTELY THIS. Same. I have to deal with Oracle and their Opera PMS platform which uses Weblogic, 19c, and a variety of other products and it makes me actively want to scream and light things on fire. If I can help it, you won’t catch me using another Oracle product if I can avoid it.
1·1 year agoThat’s the same response I always get. But once I show them how much easier it is, it’s so much easier. I can’t believe there was a time I didn’t use one.
A password manager is an absolute must, in my opinion! I use Bitwarden and love it.
1·1 year agoI love OpenRGB. It’s such a fast and lightweight alternative to Corsair iCUE, which is needlessly heavy, clunky, and resource-intensive just to tell your lights what color to be.
Horimiya is like…one of the greatest romance animes of all time. My wife and I liked it a lot!
My wife also loved The Ancient Magus’s Bride.
I’ve used Pihole and Adguard. Liked them both, but ultimately went back to Pihole.

Why? Because I was on Proton personally for a long time but got frustrated with the lack of features and also my wife and I rely heavily on shared groupware stuff like calendars and reminders, so we switched back to Google Mail. Once Proton is a bit more feature-rich, we’ll take a look at it again.

I started with Jerboa and just would WefWef today. Game changer! Loving it.
Unfortunately, I went back to less privacy-focused platforms. My wife and I rely heavily on shared calendars, reminders, tasks, desktop drive clients, and other groupware functionality. So we’re back with those Google bastards for now.
Like I said I really like the general concepts of Proton and was a paying user for over a year, but eventually we just had to move back to Google because of the lack of features.
If their offerings become more mature, then we’ll absolutely be looking at coming back!
