So, I have it running on a Pi 3 B+ which has BT 4.2 built in. You would indeed probably get even better range with a BT adapter and USB extension.

I’ve been running Bluehood the past couple weeks, on a Raspberry Pi that was otherwise collecting dust. I’m up to 2K Bluetooth devices spotted and I live on a slow, residential street. Its quite startling how easily you could stalk someone who travels around with Bluetooth on.
I have a Pixel 7 I’ve been dailying for over a year with GrapheneOS. All my banking apps work great in their segregated profile and even Android Auto. I don’t use WhatsApp, I’ve converted my friends and family to Signal. Your mileage may obviously vary, but definitely consider it. Graphene doesn’t address the meat of this post (Google fucking Android), but definitely helps for the interim (until Linux phones are truly viable).
I just run teleporter on my primary and manually upload that backup to my secondary. My blocklists and local DNS dont change much, so its not a big concern of mine.
Nebula-Sync and Orbital-Sync may be of interest to you. It seems like you want to automate the syncing.

Sorry, brother. You need to give up on using antique Android. Its a huge security threat. You also need to put Linux on that laptop still rocking Win ME.

Oh, no shit! Now I know. I appreciate that!

It seems likes a Fennec and Firefox specific issue. Try Ironfox and see if it behaves differently. Its not on F-Droid. Obtanium is the easiest way to install Ironfox (and keep it updated).
I’ve been running DietPi for years. Its so lightweight and stable. I love GUI-less Debian and its chefs kiss on a Raspberry Pi.
This is my method. Yeah, it sucks I’m still running Google Play Services. But at least its sandboxed on GrapheneOS, restricted to a separate profile, and I only run that profile while driving. I have a mapping and music app in that profile and that’s all I need for a full AA experience.
