  • Unfortunately they’re always chasing the next thing. I think they didn’t have faith that the video game industry would stay strong and instead believed people would focus on playing mobile games. The reality is there’s room for both kinds of players, but Konami knows people will always gamble. To be fair, they’re still making games, but not really pushing the envelope or leading anymore.

For people that may be confused or possibly surprised, although MV3 is a shitty Google thing, Firefox should still implement widely used APIs so developers can still write code once that works on (most) any browser. Having to write a “Firefox specific” Web app or extension would cause friction and limit adoption.

  • I know you weren’t asking me, but to chime in, it’s safer to say that the circumstances of memeing are actually way more complex than we give credit. I’d argue that it’s rarely the case that a meme is just a meme. Situations where an event or a person becomes a meme can be totally misinterpreted, reinterpreted or otherwise change from reality. Memes are used tools, many times as propaganda, and who is in a meme possibly, does have an effect. Memeing is actually a big complex part of the human experience! Especially since proliferation of the internet.

Anyway, it’s interesting to think about.

Good to see people agree on this. The way that gambling in sports has flourished really targets and is detrimental to young men, IMO. I’ve noticed that younger men tend to feel it’s normal to risk a significant amount of money gambling on almost all sports, to include E-sports, when really it shouldn’t be something they think about constantly.

I like gambling as much as the next person, and I feel like you should be allowed to if you’re responsible, but I think we shouldn’t be glorifying gambling like it’s just something everyone does. Shame on all these celebrities using their status to trick younger people into gambling.
