Mine is the best for me because I like it the best. It does what I need with a minimum of configuration or customization. My needs and preferences are probably different from yours though, so Linux Mint Debian Edition with Cinnamon desktop environment might not be the best for you.

electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Tailscale addressing concerns over potential enshittification of the platformEnglish77·4 days agoThis person is desperately trying to convince themself. Once the finance capitalists gain control they will be steering the company. They don’t care about long term profits if they can squeeze high short term profits. They don’t give a shit about the company, especially in tech. They’ll sell off any IP (or keep it for their collection) when it’s time for bankruptcy and move on to the next target.
I have it on my desktop, but rarely use email there. My phone uses K9, which is actually now Thunderbird also 🥸
All this discussion about captchas raises a question for me: if fingerprinting is so accurate and easy, that ublock, no cookies and a VPN don’t help… then why the fuck do I have to keep doing captchas?

It probably works a lot better now, not to mention that you can just access Word in the browser if really necessary.

Can you use dd to create multiboot USB drives? Even the link you shared lists Ventoy as an option.
I’ve been voting against fascism since '96 and I keep being told to vote for the lesser of two fascisms instead.
electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Linux@lemmy.ml•I have used Windows all my life, and I have some questions.2·3 months agoIn terms of games and programs, it’s best to look for/ask about the specific ones. Things have improved a ton with Steam/Proton, but just make sure there isn’t a deal breaker in there somewhere. Otherwise, there’s great distros out there that are EZPZ for normal everyday computer tasks (web surfing, file browsing, office shit).

electric_nan@lemmy.mlto Android@lemmy.world•The future of unlockable bootloaders?English1·3 months agoThat’s a bummer. My next phone will likely be a used Pixel with GrapheneOS. After that, I’m hoping there will be a usable Linux phone with Android app support.
