Yeah, don’t use SD for something, that continuously writes data on it. One power outage and it will die.

Maybe Photoprism isn’t a backup strategy, but Syncthing for sure is, because you can have multiple backup units in it.
I’m additionally use software RAID on one of devices, that receives Syncthing backups.
They already blocked it for unregistered users. There’s only that annoying overlay, that forces you to install their app.
First I created account there and then landed on my current instance, because lemmy.ml’s admin views looks sketchy for me. Been living in ex-ussr for all my life I just cant accept all that communists and marxists and the fact that lemmy.ml has /c/Communism on it.
I know that’s silly but that’s why I’m not there anymore.
You could also use USB forwarding in Virtualbox and qemu to do this without rebooting your machine :-)
Yeah, and syncing is so easy, I just press a button and don’t care about it.
Afaik, most of them are supported. Haven’t had any problems with a printer in linux. Linux uses CUPS and CUPS is made by apple, so, I thought, most of printers are supported by it.
And you could also search for drivers on manufacturer’s page, there’ll be linux version.
Syncthing to replace Google drive and Photoprism for Photos. Both have a great functionality and run well on my 12yrs old home server with 2gb of ram.
Yeah, it looks cool. In my times it’s been Tornado BBS, written in Pascal. By tuning that I’ve started my way into coding.
There were midnight chats with strangers, who chose to use ‘yell sysop’; long explanations to parents, who weren’t so understanding about phone line taken after 10PM. Such a great times that was)
Also, try Xibalba, its a bbs software written in nodejs, which has web interface.
You gotta search for MUDs with that description. That’s how that kind of games was called.
I’ve hosted a BBS on my home town like 20 years ago. That was still a thing in ex-USSR at that time.
Photoprism for photos. Its awesome!
