I had an external hard drive enclosure that I stored my Plex content on before I built a nas, and the enclosure would go to sleep after 15 minutes and take the drives offline. So i had a cron script write a 1 kb file to each drive every 14 minutes. Worked well enough
I just set up Obsidian with Syncthing like so many Lemmy users recommend and it is totally awesome! I also love that I can theme it differently on my phone, tablet, laptop, and computer.
My coffee maker is an electric kettle and a Chemex. Trump probably couldn’t even figure out how to do it.
It’s so sad Steve Jobs died of ligma
The LibreWolf WinUpdater works great. You get a small pop-up when there’s an update and it updates super quickly (in my experience in like 15 seconds).

Holy shit what a mensch, ty! The machines in my building are the easy kind too, no lock picking required!
My apartment building also converted their coin machines to CSC Go, so I’ve been biding my time until he reveals this exploit. They’re $2.50 per wash cycle and $2.25 per dryer cycle, but if you do a big load it won’t get fully dried so you might need an extra cycle. It’s basically highway robbery even considering the water and electricity usage.
I bought one pair from them and they were pretty crummy. Also getting the pupillary distance is tricky.
Sent this to my friend at AWS and he said it was already all-over their internal Memes Slack channel. At least their engineers and project managers are in on the joke. 😁
I have a Chromecast Ultra 4K from 2016; does anyone know if it’s possible to homebrew/jailbreak it?
Yet another reason to use a hardened fork like Arkenfox or Librewolf; I assume both will disable this by default
Launder my money and my reputation? I’ll take five

My boomer parents have dedicated inside shoes for this purpose. When you get old and have hardwood floors you need the extra arch support and traction. Podiatrists recommend wearing shoes inside.
You can have tons of tabs open while still being able to read what they are
Moving the tabs to the side of your browser window frees up more vertical real estate which better matches the webpage layout of most websites, which otherwise have wasted space on the left and right sides of the page when viewing them on a computer
Respectfully disagree when it comes to this video! I wouldn’t have fully appreciated the innovations he presents ~80-minutes in without the preceding historical context!
Read the post, literally nothing ☺️
