I have this scary vision where they somehow do a more or less successful IPO and gain 100 billion or more. Than this idiocy will never stop.

We all know it’s going to be bad. In fact, I expect hilarious results.

Sure, just give me a bunch of statistically probable syllables as health advice, what could go wrong?

I think the market will turn out to be the real kill-switch, possibly for Mozilla ss a whole.

We are, and in a way it’s hilarious. I get to experience both worlds.

Going anywhere near any of Trump’s businesses is a guarantee for losses and regret. In Trump’s world there are only very few winners, basically only the ones paying for pardons. And it’ll be interesting to see if even this is worth it in the long run.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion about bigotry and slurs, but having soulless American mega-corporations enforcing the current lowest common denominator about what is acceptable is not the win some people might think it is. Sure, they might seem like they’re on your side, and thus the right side, now, but this can change quickly and radically.
Installed bazzite on my son’s gaming laptop, it works perfectly well and he really likes the ricing.

I tried it and canceled it the moment the games I actually played started randomly disappearing. “Whoops, we only licensed this for a couple of months. You can still pay even more to ‘buy’ it, though. We might also re-license it later on, but who knows? Also, enjoy this absolute corporate trash we will shove into your face constantly!” No thanks.

I could power a data center with the rolling of my eyes after reading this headline.
Concise and to the point. My thoughts exactly.

Uhm, isn’t bazzite practically what the author is asking for?

Welp, you can get the Trump phone instead. Enjoy.

People keep trying to attribute planning to what can be much more plausibly explained by idiocy. Trump is not “strategically” dozing the rose garden to distract from the real news, he’s just a tasteless brutish moron.

I agree with the above but would like to add that the results are hilariously bad and error-prone. I got results for a simple query about public holidays that were so wrong it was unusable. Once people get to experience the abysmal AI search regularly, they will just stop using it. Whether Google quietly kills it quick enough before people start using alternatives is the billion dollar question.

I figured it’s not quite there yet. I hope market forces will solve this eventually. If Google manages to make android bad enough, demand for an alternative should arise. I’m already running Linux on my desktop quite happily, thanks to windows 11.

Linux phones are looking more attractive every day now.

Fedora bluefin is a much bigger project and a much larger paradigm shift in how Linux distros can be understood than what you make out to be. Tweaking system files might be a good choice for users who need to go beyond what comes with the standard, but it’s not something a wide majority of users will or should need.
“How did you go bankrupt?” - “Two ways, gradually and then suddenly.”
