For someone who isn’t well versed in open source licensing, what’s wrong with MIT? What’s a good alternative?

• Using MIT license to me means the product could (and probably would) turn commercial at any moment if it finds success. Yes these projects are free to start, but there could be a huge cost in terms of migration need down the road, if the developer alters the deal.

That type of service is pretty close to the top of the list when it comes to things I demand privacy for.

But this is a cool project! Looking forward to Jellyfin support.

Ollama is a VC-backed copy/paste of llama.cpp.

They have a history of using llama.cpp’s code (and bugs) without supporting the project or giving credit. llama.cpp is easy to use, more performant, and truly open source.
