What hardware are you running your truenas setup on? I have an old computer that I’ve had freenas on that finally died.

I actually never got around to buying a pixel to give it a go. I might pick up an 8 once the price drops more.
I’m an electrician, and cordless tools are ten times easier to manage on a jobsite. There are also plenty of times like where I’m doing a service panel upgrade, corded tools aren’t even an option when there’s no site power, and I’m not lugging a generator around.
At the end of the day, cordless tools just make the entire day easier. The battery situation is annoying, but I’ll gladly pay the price for the convenience, especially when time and efficiency gets me paid quicker and home sooner. All those little efficiencies add up over the course of a day.
It’s the batteries that keep you in their ecosystems, they’re expensive as hell.
Probably depends on the store, but I think most of them usually give the unsold baked goods to the employees every day, or whatever day they’re due to be marked out. My buddy has been at Starbucks for years, and he always has treats.
Question if you don’t mind: is it theoretically possible to use syncthing on the root directory of a given arch install, somehow blacklist hardware specific components, and basically have a running clone between both systems? I’ve never heard of syncthing before this but it sounds intriguing
I got a X1 carbon gen 10 last year, and despite all the Lenovo hate, it’s been a great laptop running EndeavourOS. I opted for the 512gb as the price for the 2tb drive was ridiculous, so I bought a WD Black 2tb and swapped it myself. The bottom plate takes a few min to figure out, but it isn’t terrible.
I’ve definitely notice weirdness with odt files, but truth be told I damn never run into those, everything is xlsx, docx, etc as I’m interfacing with companies that are firmly MS, but they’re also none the wiser usually. Every now and again there’ll be a formatting issue, especially with Excel, but it isn’t too common thankfully.
For what is worth, I’ve had better luck on MSOffice integration with onlyoffice, but ymmv

I’m actually pretty curious to see how the FCC moves forward after Chevron, and I’m hoping Rosenworcel wipes the floor with them
If I’m reading your post right, you basically want a fully functional system that is console only (no GUI), right? So when you go to install, just simply skip installing the desktop environment/window manager.
That, or you can set it up to where your system boots to the console, and you can activate the DE/WM if you want to (like startx for X11). Each environment is different, but I think it’s removing the line for starting the DE/WM from either systemctl or maybe a hook, I forget.
I blame the news for starting that “wOkE” shenanigans. The National Hurricane Center has been using the exact same naming convention since 1953, primarily to make tracking different storms easier. The names start with A at the beginning of the storms season, and ascend alphabetically, alternating gender. Additionally, even years start with a male name, odd years start with a female name. I highly doubt a bunch of scientists really give two shits about the naming convention when they’re really just trying to tell your dumb ass, “Hey, a storm’s coming.”
Also, Beryl is an old school woman’s name. Get the net. The previous storm was named Alberto, the next one will be Chris. These lists are predetermined many years in advance.
A for effort, D- for execution
Why does this read like a Trump campaign email/text
I really want to know who entered my info into their system so I can bludgeon them with a rusty chain, there is no opting out lol
I’m sure someone’s walked their dog on a treadmill
Especially at the prices the bill comes out to be. I had a day years ago where my car was in the shop, so I used one of them to get lunch. A $10 sandwich ended up costing me $30, and some people do this every day. Fuck avocado toast (which is delicious), this is why people are broke.
I mean, I had a mainline kernel update bork my system last month
