For the urgent notifications that require immediate action I use apprise -> Pager duty (free tier) because it can overwrite the DnD settings on my phone and wake me up if im asleep. For all other notifications apprise -> matrix.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Hot Ones trying to sneak in the package protectionEnglish
18·1 month agoSo they don’t package there products currently and instead sell you insurance? Until you sign for an online order it isn’t yours so if it breaks it’s on the seller to send a replacement. They may get back to the shipping company for reimbursement but as a customer I don’t care and don’t need to know. It’s not my fault you ether didn’t package glass bottles in enough foam or the shipping company stompt your package nether are my problem I bought a product from you and until I receive what I ordered in the advertisemed state you haven’t completed your side of the contract.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•UK/EU homelabbers: would you host a hardened Pi so I can watch baseball I already pay for?English
6·2 months agoTorGuard offers residential dedicated IPs. And there are proxy services that have that as there business model for circumventing chaptas when scraping the web. I would look there https://brightdata.com/proxy-types/residential-proxies https://oxylabs.io/location-proxy/uk https://torguard.net/residential-ip-vpn/

60·2 months agoWhat it basically comes down to is this: do I trust some random guy off the Internet to use my Internet connection which is tied to my legal government name and the legal reprocussions that comes with that to access the Internet as if they were me?
The only way I would do that is if I gave it its own vlan and only allow Internet traffic to specific whitelisted ips. Even then my legal protection insurance definitely won’t cover that.

6·2 months agoIf they block VPNs exit ips which aren’t necessarily public they most certainly will block all the Tor exit nodes which are public by design.

He hate unions. Doesn’t pay his workers fairly. Drives a porsche. Has a private jet. Knew that honey was scamming him with the last click affiliate links switcheroo and instead of exposing them he quietly ended there sponsorship with them.
Also the 2 - 3 sponsor breaks plus the “at ltt store dot com” self promotion every 5 minutes really makes the videos unbearable to watch even with sponsor block.
Let alone all the non compete shit with his workers as well as the working atmosphere that was reported by some of the workers.
First trip was a family vacation to Mexico

5·3 months agoFrom a performance point of view the closest location to your entry is the best. Legally speaking other comments pointed out problems to that. I would recommend you do Speedtest in any case regardless of exit point to check your VPN setup.
both download(easy just grab a current Linux ISO like actually) and UPLOAD as well by creating a public torrent that you can download with your home connection/other server/vps

22·3 months agoGuys maybe don’t incriminate yourself with posting circumstancial evidence of yourself committing crimes on a massive scale. Big corpo is watching whis sub and can just pick it’s juciest target from the comment section of this post.
Like yes you might be using a VPN but posting shit like this paints a target on your back screens can leed to wiretaps on your real IP which you probably also used to post these screenshots here. After that they can see which VPN you use. They can just ask your VPN even if they don’t log anything “hey what current connections is this user using right now” and since you are probably seeding 24/7 there is a good chance they can link some of the uploaded torrents to the actual torrent file and now they have enough to get a warrant and cease your equipment with all them TBs of evidence.
Anyway just practice SOME opsec.

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What's the go-to VPN provider todayEnglish
2·4 months agoBeen using it myself for some years but the up speeds are really ass max I got was 5MB/s up. In speed tests ~300mbit up while my server was in an actual Datacenter with multi gibt connection I switched to proton and got throttled at 1gbit which is a lot better
Oh and someone was hosting a Tor endpoint on one of there vpns which gets the IP Blacklisted and you potentially banned from some trackers. support just closed my complaint without comment.
Hell naw my homelab is already sucking way too much power and running too hot.
