Yeah their security track record as of late is pretty bad…

I did and lo, my forms started working again. I can recommend you try to uninstall and reinstall too (disabling it was not enough).
beeb@lemm.eeto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Proton Pass breaks prowlarr on firefox since todayEnglish3·1 year agoNote that the “plus” suffix doesn’t hide your real email, that’s a small but notable difference. I could well see websites parsing for +… patterns and removing them before selling your data.
That’s cool! I’ve used enough raspberry pi’s over the years to know that SD cards, even if industrial grade are likely to fail at some point so I try to avoid booting from them. eMMC would be much better but sometimes a pain to flash depending on the tooling available. Having a SATA port would allow to use HDDs which provide a lot of capacity for cheap. I guess the processor needs to be an Amlogic for the best media experience?
How does storage look/work with a SBC? Do you have to boot off of an SD card? Any support for sata drives?
The Proton offering is a great alternative imo
I’ve never used podman but always wondered if it was able to use the host’s network stack to perform things like sending ICMP packets.

Try both, but personally I had trouble with playback on my older android tablet with jellyfin and so I went with plex which works for me.
I use Hetzner and it’s really good imo

Go has its fair share of design problems and is not as memory efficient due to its garbage collector. Also it will probably always be linked to Google in some way.

Regarding import from chrome, here is the article for 1password https://support.1password.com/import-chrome/
The cost is not free but if you’re comfortable with having anyone but you handle your (encrypted) data I think they are a good option. Like others said, Bitwarden is another popular alternative which you can also self-host if that’s your thing (either through their official server or through the alternative vaultwarden open-source project).
beeb@lemm.eeto Android@lemmy.world•Opinion - What are your thoughts on password managers? Do you use one? Would you recommend it to others?English61·2 years agoThe passwords store on Google chrome is not encrypted in a way that makes it hard to steal your credentials. The encryption key is stored on your file system alongside it in plain text. There are generally much fewer concerns for security in browser password managers than in standalone solutions. The standalone password managers also allow you to enter credentials into apps on your phone or desktop even if login doesn’t happen in a Web view. Usually they also allow to store much more data besides passwords (passports, encryption keys, secret text documents or pdfs, credit card information, …). I use 1password and they have very good integration I the browser and os through their extensions and apps. It’s not less convenient than chrome’s own solution.
I’m on lemm.ee using wefwef and had zero problems in the past few days since I started using it. I think most of the problems come from the instance that hosts your account rather than the frontend of wefwef.
And install python and install those dependencies before you can even run the thing
