Not wholly opposed to that, markets can serve the purpose they’re designed for, and I could see an evolution of cybersyn that helps run the economy using simulated markets.

The average person just has no idea about RCS or protocols in general and are incidental adopters of it just like SMS. Sometimes these nerd debates about platforms and protocols emphasize technology features over actually connecting with people or doing something productive on said technology.
These nerds will debate platforms way more than use them productively.
Used a self hosted matrix with element for years now it’s solid. Have a friend group who uses it for everything with dedicated channels etc.
“I only talk to other nerds” basically
They hated him, for he spoke the truth.
“10 degrees to the left in good times, 10 degrees to the right when it affects them personally.”
Would probably change the cabinets to a lighter color but I love it.
He never stereotyped whites as a distinct singular identity that I can recall, it was always about their relation to maintaining inequality. One of his most impactful actions was convincing white and black unions to strike together, and that the fight for jobs and equality was one poor whites and blacks needed to share. In “The Other America” he constantly references poor white populations who share in the struggle.
MLK Jr never divided people by race like this, he thought that was one of the Three Evils plaguing American society.
It’s funny how sometimes people try to argue or debate when I say I use Windows to run Ableton or something, like I’m trying to use Windows and making up excuses. My gaming + media creation desktop is a stripped down Windows install cause it just works for that. I also run Linux on everything else and have been a mixed environment sysadmin for like 15 years. Windows Enterprise and massgravel, drivers, Chris Titus Tech’s tool, usable Winblows install in under an hour with active time maybe 20-30 minutes.
Yeah used DE since my grandpa gave me one of his when I was like 13, his father was a barber by trade and I also have his straight razor collection (which I don’t use).
Actually use a mix of DE, disposable, and electric, depending on the purpose. The Philips oneblade and classic Andis foil for face and jawline with finishing DE touch on flat areas sometimes. I know electric on face… used to have acne too but I find they keep my skin barrier more intact by barely not getting to the skin.
I legit use the double edge on d+bs more than anything… sounds like a bad idea I know but for me it’s the easiest, quickest, far superior result, and way less injury than any other method. You maybe wouldn’t think this but going on every 3-5 days for like 10 years at this point so I’m completely confident in it. An electric with shortest attachment for pubes and around the edges, then the DE on genitals, nothing better.
It is my intention to suggest that Americans, including many historians, tend to accord race a transhistorical, almost metaphysical, status that removes it from all possibility of analysis and understanding. Ideologies, including those of race, can be properly analyzed only at a safe distance from their terrain. To assume, by intention or default: that race is a phenomenon outside history, is to take a position within the terrain of racialist ideology and to become its unknowing -and therefore uncontesting- victim. (Barbara Fields, Ideology and Race in American History)
Very true! Enterprise iso and MAS and basically done. My previous builds have mostly all been Enterprise edition and I’d definitely go that route if I knew 11 was gonna be so bad. A part of me was curious after hearing so much hate, and I didn’t mind learning how to remove it all because I could see it coming in useful for helping others, it was a good way to get exposed to all of it and I found some helpful tools I can send to people now.
Try configuring windows update
I wish home and pro version influenced the setting panes. I get what they’re trying to do with making it look like OSX and Linux and why the “network interface and adapters” probably isn’t helpful for many home users, but I just wanna manage my interfaces here.
Yeah I’ve been a mixed environment sysadmin for many years and still to keep need a Windows desktop at home and powershell makes it all happen. I basically do a complete debloat of my install and and all that. I actually like the overall Windows 11 desktop environment but omg the bloatware is insane I don’t know how people use it without knowing how to clean it up.
Basically moved on from youth novels with both Dean Koontz and Stephen King. The Odd Thomas series was a fun read at that age.
I guess with my knowledge of energy markets, a situation like that would result in higher prices just by the way the market functions, responding to supply and demand. The graph here appears to be a market clearing price rather than a price after adjustments, where a lot of incentives would be brought in like an intentional price hike.
We were in the opposite situation though where we were running into surplus overnight during a period of energy transition. You’d see these stupid misinformed articles being like, “the government is giving away YOUR electricity to the US!” Was like during the 2003 blackout where we needed to bring large loads online carefully alongside generation, people were freaking out how casinos and industry got power before them. The need for dispatchable loads connected to the high voltage transmission grid in that situation wasn’t as headline worthy.
Wouldn’t there be a price cap in events that the wholesale market has anomalies like this? That’s standard in most jurisdictions. The wholesale price is still “real” because there’s some system or market condition reflected in this spike, it’s just not normal for ratepayers at the distribution level to not have a price cap protection. It’s like the opposite scenario if the price isn’t high enough to cover the cost in actually delivering the energy and running the grid, so a Global Adjustment would come in to effect to cover the difference. There can even be surplus conditions where the price is in the negative.
The left doesn’t really have any political power under capitalist hegemony where there’s economic consensus in the political and ruling class. There are many leftists but essentially no political left, and at the same time politics can no longer impact our economic arrangements, irs basically a spectacle we react to from different angles. What we have are centrist liberals both portrayed as “far left” by the right, some who ignorantly react to that with “yes, I am far left!” And those who actually have a visceral hate for capitalism have almost always been dealt with on common ground between centrist liberals and the right.
