I grew up in a country where movies are rarely dubbed. I was reading the subtitles out loud for my siblings who couldn’t read yet for entire movies.

Ah, sorry, saw you were giving prices in CAD and assumed you were in Canada.
This is a little out of the blue, but have you found any way to update the Canadian Onn 4K Pro? The last security update on mine was back in 2024, and some Quebec TV apps disappeared because they require a newer android version.
It looks like they had a bad android 14 rollout in the states, that they fixed later, but there are no news about it ever coming to Canada. With the new device release, my hopes are down.
Does winboat have GPU pass through yet?
Holy shit, you aren’t kidding, I don’t know how I missed news about 1.1, it’s a huge improvement.
If you happen to have an education account, you can stream it through your browser.

They did add this bizarre new feature that syncs tabs between windows though. I still can’t wrap my head around why someone would want this.

You won’t be able to afford RAM and SSD though.
I have to admit that the last time I did it was with windows …vista?
Why isn’t it advisable?
You don’t need a second drive to dual boot. Although some atomic distros don’t like to share.
I mean, this looks like a step towards that direction, no?
There are ways around it, for sure, but let’s say it was enough to instill bad habits in me.

When you live in a country where upload speeds are abysmall even when download speeds are ok, you learn to heavily throttle torrent uploads lest you ruin the internet for your entire household.

Fair enough!

“Trickles down” sure implies Fedora here, especially when Bazzite is mentioned.

It isn’t. The “browser version” is actually streaming a VM running on one of autodesk’s computers.
Instead of a distro, I’ll recommend a desktop environment: If you want to feel comfortable coming from windows, use a distro with KDE.

Those look like en-dashes.
The only thing I miss on Linux is to be able to fill government PDFs.
