Yeah I sometimes switch to Firefox instead of the youtube app, but its a little bit annoying switching in and out of fullscreen and I’ve found the tap to fast forward doesn’t work consistently. I wasn’t able to find an addon for Firefox Android to force the quality selection last time I looked but maybe I need to check again.
Even with premium they will send lower quality if they think they can get away with it, I have to change the quality on every video that plays on my tablet now: it completely ignores the preferred quality in the settings.

I think it used to be more likely for people driving a bmw to not use the indicator for a little while when bmw had that fucky indicator stalk design that doesn’t stay moved when on: in that the bad design meant people who used the indicator were less likely to buy them after test driving one.

That’s true, and always best to look up reviews and analysis of the design, most wouldn’t fail in such a catastrophic way if one of the sensors were to malfunction. But yeah, scooping it manually is definitely the safest option.
There are much safer designed ones from reputable companies, these ones are drop shipped ones where they’ll put anyone’s logo on them, and have a very poorly thought out design.
That’s true for professionals, but if you’re doing some light DIY the cost of the tools is probably more significant than the inefficiencies. Also corded stuff is generally so much cheaper, especially second hand, that it won’t even matter if you have to replace some of the ones you’re using frequently with cordless, and then at least you have a backup if you forget to charge it or run out of battery.
Maybe upgrade to cordless if you find it’s needed later or see one for cheap.
Just use corded except for the hand drill.
