As everyone has said, they have no legal basis to stop you from walking out, unless they’re asserting shopkeeper’s privilege, which has certain limits and opens them up to possible liability. This is why employees are trained that only managers and Loss Prevention can do that.

However, they absolutely are able to ban you from a store for not complying. How effective a ban is at a store that sees thousands of people walking in every day, I’m not sure. But it’s something to keep in mind if you have limited other options nearby.

Agreed. Make the phones ⅛ in - ¼ (3.18mm - 6.35mm) thicker and use all the extra space for a bigger battery! Virtually everyone throws a case on their phone anyways, so it’s not going to be a very noticeable size difference anyways.

Whereas my ADHD has me keeping huge numbers of tabs open (although my record is only ~350) because once it’s closed, it’s completely gone from my mind. Bookmarks are a burial ground, and history has all the other stuff that I don’t need to reference anymore. With tabs, I can go through them and remember why I kept it around, and close it once I’ve actually done something with it.

Which was also a terrible change.
