“Field missing from registry”, one of my favourite franchises, is now owned by EA? Ugh. 😩

Ooooh, but it does fit in the tummy pocket of most hoodies
Because phones as in mobile phones should be pocketable, and a phone that large stops respecting the definition
I wonder if at least one non empty line from the original code is still present in today’s desktop version
Must’ve been Win7. There were ways to upgrade certain 7 licenses to valid Win 8.x licenses (the infamous Windows 8.x with Media Center) that you could get if you had a viable Win7 license (anything except starter, basic and pro). Win 10 and 11 were free “upgrades” if you had a 7+ key
Windows 7 and Windows 8 were definitely not free upgrades
At least they’re a targetable demographic.
Cries in Windows Phone
IIRC that’s just an issue with AM radios. And it happens with petrol cars too. A friend of mine’s car has this weird quirk where, while running below 50km/h, (I assume) the alternator generates RF interference in the AM band.
We have nothing broadcasting there though, so no biggie.
I guess nobody’s selling avocado toasts in China.
As long as your country has no oil, you can insult them without fear of retribution
Should’ve been the version saying:
Geanie: “It is done”
Person: “But… nothing changed”
G: “Correct”
Because then you’ll be able to dismiss the ethics while being aware of the implications of your research.
Disregarding the ethics while not knowing them grants you no extra points, whilst deliberately ignoring the ethical ramifications but understanding them gets you all the points
I get the most deadly creatures and kangaroos for free? No way!
What if I despise the way they live and everything they stand for?
No infrastructure yet.
I’ve only seen that happen with AMD cards from an 8yo laptop, where the Microsoft provided driver somehow lacked OpenGL support. And my desktop’s sound driver, where only the older driver supports my setup. But those are the only two cases that come to mind since Win8 came out
But… carefully skimming through pages of drivers was the best part of installing older versions of Windows.
The scheduler can’t do anything if the hardware isn’t designed to. If the cpu can’t downclock when idle, it won’t, regardless of software
Secondary, yes, but the push to claim “muh production line is more green” has probably improved that too.
Embedded, low power stuff is quite common.
Then again I’m no expert, they could very well still be power hogs
I would love that if I had an iPhone mini and the keyboard prevents the software one from popping up. On a full sized regular iPhone I don’t really see the appeal, even if I do like physical keyboards.
