  • Maybe there’s a special case for local subnets?

Here’s what shows up for me (in portuguese):

Safari browser invalid certificate warning page.

Clicking on more details, only allows me to check the certificate:

Safari browser detailed information for invalid certificate warning.

    Here’s the translated details:

Safari warns you when a website has an invalid certificate. This can happen if an attacker has compromised your connection. For your protection, you cannot visit this site. You can check later to see if the problem has been solved. You can also contact the site owner to report this error.

To learn more, you can see the certificate.

    Said certificate:

    iOS invalid certificate information.

Edit: on the latest iOS version (27) btw.

  • Joplin’s hand drawing is horrible.

Aside from basic stuff like a ruler and backgrounds missing, it’s force recognition is made so it makes the whole line thicker, and once its thick it does not become thin once I don’t press on it anymore

Fair enough, though there are plugins with other drawing editors. Maybe one of them fits the bill?

    Also, PDF imports are missing

What kind of PDF imports are you talking about?

and the integration of handwriting into the note itself is very poor (just a link with a PNG render)

That’s probably a real limitation since it’s primary function is a markdown note taking app. It’s not as flexible as handwritten notes.

Obs: maybe Affine is of interest, they also have a comparison table with other note taking apps.

  • Stable doesn’t necessarily means there aren’t any bugs, it just means it doesn’t change or changes are minor. Of course most bugs shouldn’t be a show stopper, though annoying they should have a way to bypass them or simply not have that great a impact.

I recall when using and regularly updating Arch, a library update borked a software dependent on it — a software required for a Uni class mind you — and while I managed to get it working afterwards, I had to stay awake through the night. That’s the difference between stable and rolling release, that wouldn’t happen as easily on Debian stable.

For most users a rolling release model is fine, for servers, it’s not.

From what I’ve gathered about Nextcloud, they seem to be a fast paced rolling release model, which breaks often due to their pace.

Since I didn’t want to handhold it constantly, their forks — upstream and fork — drew my attention, OwnCloud and OpenCloud — fork from OwnCloud infinitescale — I went with OpenCloud, due to the smaller footprint required.

I’m currently using systemd container services built from the “full” docker compose version. The services I’m hosting are: OpenCloud server, Caddy as a reverse proxy and automatic cert renew, Keycloak for IDM, Collabora office, Apache Tika full version for text search and extraction and Radicale for contacts and calendar. They also recently updated to support EuroOffice.

While it has less features than NextCloud, it runs fine on a 4-core 8GB VPS, though it needs swap when starting for the first time or updating.
