The Mozilla Foundation found that in late 2023, 92 percent of the automakers reviewed provided drivers with little to no control over their personal data. Additionally, 84 percent shared user data with third parties.
Why isn’t there more consumer outrage over this? And why haven’t lawmakers addressed this on a national level, given the potential dangers posed by this data collection?
Why bother with Google when they can just ask your telco.

I think that was Chat Control legislation that eventually didn’t pass in the E.U (thankfully in my opinion). Under the guise of “think of the children” it was going to be a privacy nightmare.
I’ll stand corrected on my original comment then. I hope that with Google being dragged through the courts at the moment, perhaps it may inspire more interest and conversation about how our data is handled and how it pertains to the implications around privacy.
Is Apple trying to convince me that the Health app, Apple maps or Siri doesn’t track me?
I’m pretty sure Android Automotive uses Google Maps as its default navigation system.
Yeah I worked out that the problem was the scene optimizer, I never turned it on but I get that to a certain extent these things can be changed in the settings. It won’t bring back my portrait fails though, and honestly, I still get less convincing realism than before which isn’t why I chose the phone in the first place.
Not sure why you got all the down votes here, as an educated society, wouldn’t we want more competition and less monopoly as the world relies on this tech every day?
On my Galaxy after the update and after a set of photos blending my wifes chin into her neck, resulting in making her look like Beaker from the Muppets, I’m done with Samsung. I bought this phone for it’s excellent camera capabilities, being happy to nurture my inner shutter bug, but Samsung seems to think we are all hapless idiots that can only accept perfect color matched, smooth skinned fakery. Convenience is king for most, but perhaps for me it’s time for a new brand.

What bliss… And just like that, through the miracle of organic sharing, every corner of my house, office and drive was notifying me of my existence.
Come on its a walk in the park, everyone knows that Nanosheet GAA transistors behave differently than familiar FinFETs, so EDA and other tool and IP makers had to build their products from scratch. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Wouldn’t it be great if independent auditors were standard, responsible for holding companies accountable for their data security practices, coupled with a rating system akin to those used in the banking sector? Before paying for a service, consumers would be aware of how secure the service is. Say A++ or AAA.
It would be a pain in Silicon Valley’s ass for sure, but it would go a long way toward giving consumers peace of mind and bringing about a whole new industry in the process.
