    One of the things I don’t think about here.

    Getting a large amount of downvotes on a regular basis might matter on the other site depending on various things like how automod is set up, but over here? My account could be net -1,000 on votes but its still only going to show how many submissions and comments I have on my profile.

    You need to remember that Hollywood is risk averse. They are not making things to make art but to make profit. Thats why there’s like ten Fast and the Furious movies. Because they print money because car go fast boom explosion family.

    When that realization hits home it makes perfect sense why we see remakes and adaptations and sequels. They already have a fanbase who will go see it.


  • Reminds me of a blog I followed about a guy having a castle built. He’d get contractors out for various bits and before they arrived they’d be like “oh its X for job Y” but when they got there and saw that it was for a castle, well magically the cost doubled. This might make sense in some parts but when the painter is trying to increase his price for square footage he quoted on the phone? Nah fam that ain’t it.


  • We have a insurer with a vested interest in ensuring the officer doesn’t fuck up in the first place. Insurers don’t want claims at all, because whether they win or lose thats still money being spent, albeit more in the latter case.

    Rates would go up due to the numerous claims against Officer McShooty (even if defended) and he wouldn’t be able to afford it. He goes to another department? If they have insurance he’s still in the system so…
