I have 4 cats and I handle them all without getting scratched while trimming their nails. There is one cat that will bite the nail scissors, she is tricky to handle because of that. When she catches a finger between the nail scissors and her teeth, she bites full force and that does not make a pleasant experience. I tried burritoing her, but it’s just easier to have her on her back and using sleight of hand to distract her.

Not necessarily? More like by default. Purebreds are a thing because of certain genetic traits and are bred to not only maintain them, but to enhance those traits. Because of all that inbreeding the propensity for certain diseases and cancers are vastly increased. A purebred dog or cat will with near certainty be riddled with cancer or disease by the time they start getting a bit older. I love both cats and dogs, but purebreds shouldn’t be a thing.

  • We have 4 and two litterboxes. No issues with them doing their thing. I have had it recommended we need more litterboxes, but since there are no issues, I don’t really see the point. That being said, we religiously clean those twice a day, so I suppose that helps. And on the point of 4 cats, I agree, it’s a bit much. We had two and then last year we found two kittens on the street (not at the same time), one scroungy as hell and the other one had a gaping wound. We nursed both back to health and then didn’t have the heart to give them away, so yea, that’s how that went.
