I am rocking the Pixel 8 Pro but man this would almost have me wanting to test drive a Nothing device. I was close to pulling the trigger on a Zenphone 10 this year. MKBHD sold me on that device.
NO PEACE. WE MUST FEED.

They don’t, and honestly, Snapchat is what most of Gen Z is using to the point I believe it has even confused Facebook so Facebook has copied Snapchat.
Snapchat also has even more reason to update and appeal to that age group.
Using a 7 Pro same circumstances and I do not have this issue at all?
The display is also 2400 nits peak brightness. I will take a brighter screen over HDR10+ literally any fucking day of the week.
Corporatism my friend.
The issue is Qualcomm who makes the majority of SoCs for phones. Qualcomm, if I am not mistaken controls the support of the phone because the phone uses their chip.
Google is now pulling an Apple move and using their own Silicon (Samsung’s Silicone) to bypass using Qualcomm.
Using a Pixel 7 Pro right now. I used to sell phones for Verizon. I still have connections there and got to hold one in person. I love the look and feel of the Pixel Fold. Hands down the best fold because of its design form factor being wider rather than taller.
I would wait one or two more generations for better battery life though.
Also necessary there are very few but apparently some stories that talk about people being hacked because they sent their Android device off for repair or replacement. If ends up in a malicious person’s hands and gets used against them some how some way.
Depends on the age of the phone and if it is boot loader locked by a carrier.
Home Assistant, learn about it. You could turn your phone into a camera viewer, light switch, smart weather provider, detection device with Bluetooth. Etc.
Terminal on Windows looks amazing.
“Why do you guys simply believe things should get better?”
That is how I read this. More power, more efficiency, better tech is not a bad thing to want.
Just because you want to hold on to a 5 year old phone doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t at least want to see efficiency in our pockets get better for the value we spend on them.
Imagine if someone said, I have dial up internet. Why are you guys constantly wanting faster Internet speeds.
It’s okay to want things to get better. You should not have the mentality of, “it’s just good enough.”
Care to explain your gripes?
At least with NVIDIA’s control panel I can find what I am looking for but my god AMD’s software feels so damn unorganized.
Is it available in the U.S. yet?
recently launched in the U.S.
Does anyone with a Fair phone have time to tell me how it compares to Pixel? I have loved all of my Google Pixel products to the point I have lived with them for 7 years since their launch.
I mean not everyone’s thoughts deserve to be paid for…
I think AMD is a great competitor and we need more competition to lay it to NVIDIA and AMD as well, BUT HOLY FUCK. I can’t stand AMD’s software/control panel vs NVIDIA’s.
Isn’t Telegram Russian owned as well?
Lol, god Lemmy is so different than Reddit.
Asks a question, gets down voted. only two comments from users who bothered to educate. Lemmy really just a community full of knowledge gate keepers that think they are better than Reddit users. Reddit users would have at least provided and article or some knowledge.
After doing some digging Wikki does say that it owned by two Russian brothers. One who sold a social media platform of his after a Russian infiltration and Russian government pressure for him to do so.
I think I will just keep using Signal.
I think I am about done with Lemmy. I have seen post after post of smug users with shitty ways of thinking like that killing more people is going to solve the world’s problems. Or that one platform is the only way to be. Or that they more about privacy and security than anyone else.
Lemmy users are just as shitty as the rest of the Internet in their own ways.
I am surprised I am not seeing, “BuT LiNUx is FoSs hOw DaRE ThEY ChARGe FoR IT?!”
It’s all good. I get that the confusing part is really when you save something locally versus saving it in a browser. Like if I am working on a document it will save it in document but I will go to save something on the web and it will put it in Downloads but I will go looking for it in Documents.
I have tried to get better at that by basically just double checking each time.
Thank you, it’s so weird to me that Lemmy users who were here before the reddit migration can’t just admit products do certain things better than others and vice versa its not defending or justifying Google irs being rational and seeing a bigger picture. Google is the ass hole no matter what but you can’t just say, “Firefox is perfect why are they using Chrome. When Firefox isn’t perfect but it is way better since time has come along.”
I have passed this message along. We are now doing Biscuit’s bidding.
