the new steam sucks hardcore. I hate everything to do with it. It’s buggy, it lags, you can’t use themes, it crashes randomly, it memory leaks. Heck it was suck bad performance that they pushed the beta back multiple times before finally releasing it and its still not ready.
I’ve been told if you do all four insurance might be more apt to cover it, best to do one to three of them that way it might not be covered

I mean they are currently /ok/ but since it’s only samsung devices it bounces off instead of every android device it doesn’t have the versatility that the Apple airtags have (where it bounces off any apple device and any android device with the app), so if it’s between one of the other I would go with air tag since you can still use them on android (with a secondary app) but as always YMMV since it’s made for Apple devices
that being said, might be changing with googles support for trackers!
apple does this but, it’s outlawed by the same regulation that this is. Batteries must be easily accessible and there must not be software restrictions for them
edit: I just attempted this again on my laptop, they have slightly fixed the issue. If an update is queued when you’re online you can remove it from the queue and then go offline and you can play it again. However if you are online you still need to update in order to play the game. This is much better than what it used to be, which was if it detected that you need an update even if you canceled the update and went offline it would say update required.

Please be aware that if the setting your indicating is the allow background updates or the prevent auto updates. While that will make it so the game will not update automatically it will still register the game as requiring update which means if you go offline it won’t let you play the game until the update has been done.

A workaround you can do is, before launching steam disconnect from the internet, then launch steam, when it launches it will say no connection and give an option to launch in offline mode, once offline mode is launched you can turn your internet back on. Just keep in mind steam also has to refresh your games every once and awhile as well so you have to go online at /some/ point or it won’t let you play the game offline anymore. Steam is super annoying in that matter.
unless this changed in the last 2 years, steam detects if a game has an “update pending” so regardless if you go offline, if it detected there was an update it prevents the game from launching. I tried to get around my parents crap download with that trick and it failed.
I limited my shopping on Amazon the last few years. Too many “deals” that are the same during prime day as off. Like I was looking at a set of weights, was 199 now 99, they have been 99 for the last month now, the “deal” is now changed to “prime day exclusive” and price stayed the same. Yea… definitely prime day exclusive… definitely worth actually browsing the platform for these sales.
I actively avoid sites that do this, if I find that I’m on the site enough to Warrant getting the app I’ll get the app. I actually didn’t realize that Reddit enforced this until about 5 or 6 months ago because they didn’t enforce that when I first started using reddit, I had already moved over to third party applications before they implemented the system. Not that it matters much anymore, I uninstalled any apps I had for the platform and blocked it for the house. I’m done with it
I just don’t buy anything with bright LEDs, if it doesn’t require it to function then I don’t want it if they want to add useless indicators to something that doesn’t need it then they don’t need my business

I don’t think it’s going to mean much for normal users. Some super old devices might no longer be able to run to run the kernel (and therefore unable to be on android 15), but aside from that I think that not much is changing. This generally gets bumped every iteration anyway.
side loading has always been available on apple Iphones, it’s just been locked exclusively down to their developer program for debugging and testing purposes and said installed apps are only valid for a limited amount of time. I expect it will use the same framework that the dev program uses, just not as restricted. That being said i can forsee them region locking it.
I would bet against that, not enough userbase to be worth them even concidering the exception.
