First and most especially the single most important factor: b/c I thought it sounded cool. 😎
Second, I googled “what does Zaddy mean” - oh wait that was earlier in the day, cough, I mean I googled “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, found that it was first aired in 1939, and so put that.
Third, it is a popular meme format.
But mostly b/c it sounded cool (yet is accurate).
Welcome to late-stage capitalism, where companies sell what you do not want to buy. e.g., no wired connection has ever once had this problem, but they had to sell more thingies, so now everything is bluetooth, whether it should be or not, plus it seems like nobody ever bothered to finish implementing bluetooth - e.g., this exact issue you are having, which surely could be fixed except… why bother, when you (& your neighbors) have already bought all the thingies?
Teaching true facts about the world - that some people will never truly love you, only what you can do for them - since 1939.
But the anti-romance dialogues were pretty fun too… (choose one person, then the others get mad at u:-P)
Kotor also encouraged replays with all options so that you could try the variety of romance situations:-).
Sadly, that part comes later as well:-(.
The only bright side is that after the adjustment period, Earth is going to be just fine - no lie! (Humans living on it though… that’s a bit of a different story now…😞)
I love this bit:
There is apparently no suggestion that South America is fictional nor has the existence of New Zealand so far been questioned.
It’s just fuck Australia in particular, everything else is fine. :-P
Regexps are awesome! And also not at the same time:-P. 🎉 Congrats👏!:-)
As Global Warming slowly kills us all, try to enjoy it!:-) 😭
I thought some of the older ones, like 2000, were more secure, with ability to access on-chip security features. So ofc they threw all that out in favor of 10, the final OS that would come as a subscription service, meaning that you’d never need to buy one again. And then they threw that out too, in favor of the next one… and on and on it goes:-P.
I absolutely hate Windows:-(.
If you were close enough to take this picture, then you were close enough to influence the outcome… I’m just saying… :-)
Makes sense - why allow people to administer their own machines? :-P
Computers mostly don’t force software updates on you, unless you tell them to. (Caveat: IT routinely forces updates on people.) Find the setting where you specifically asked the machine to keep itself updated, and turn it off. If you can’t find it, throw the machine away and get a better one where you can be in control:-P. This concludes my sermon for today, I hope you all have some Happy Holidays!:-P
A study on astroturfing on Reddit, written in the style of Reddit by an astroturfer - oh the delicious irony? :-P
This sounds like something Mothra would say… :-P
If you’re an OG iPhone or Mac user, then you might remember paid software updates. Over a decade ago, long before iOS 16 and macOS Ventura, major Apple OS updates used to cost users around $10 for iOS and $20 for macOS. By iOS 4, though, Apple switched to free software updates, allowing users to update their devices for as long as they’re supported without having to pay a fee.
Yeah, but nowadays it’s all “free” - as in you only pay for the hardware to enter their walled garden (but then no matter how much you pay, you can never really leave! at least not via normal, legal means, if you want to ever come back - Welcome to the Hotel California 🎶…!:-P).
Probably b/c if they can’t monetize your data, then they choose to profit from you in other ways. :-(
