Three of our family’s five previous phones would like to disagree, as they all began struggling with unreliable USB-C connections (also during charging 😒) already after one or two years of use.
And two of those weren’t even used with a USB-headphone adapter…
Never had any similar problems with 3.5mm headphone jacks in the 10 years of smartphone usage preceding that. Just clean them once in a while from dust motes and you are fine.
That phone honestly looks great…
But one huge downside for many: It seems only to be available in North America… :-(
Back then I chose a Motorola because I was told I comes with the least amount of garbage pre-installed, is this still true?
This was definitely still true for the Moto G72 I am using for almost three years now, but had already changed for the Moto G54 my girlfriend bought 1.5 years ago.
This one had several unwanted and unremovable crap apps preinstalled. One forced itself to the screensaver with a button you often accidentally pushed that then started downloading and showing animated screens that led to online ads when you clicked on them. Very hard to disable and would return after each Firmware update…
I couldn’t find it in the list of models LineageOS supports
And being a device with a Mediatek chipset it is unfortunately very unlikely to ever appear there.
Can confirm that from my setup. Increasing the parallelization beyond 3-4 concurrent threads doesn’t also significantly increase the inference speed any more.
This is a telltale sign that some of the cores are starving because data doesn’t arrive fast enough any more…
The sparse models have a low number of active parameters during each run, while the total number of available parameters can be quite large.
This means that they also run well on systems with limited computation resources (but lots of RAM).
So you can basically run them completely without high-end-GPU on the CPU of of-the-shelf PCs and still easily achieve double-digit token/s values.
Seeing how impressive the 30b-a3b model already is on my aging desktop at home, this might be worth installing a RAM upgrade…

Even the pricing would be ok for me because I just like their designs (and the headphone jack).
But in this price range I would definitly expect a longer term software support.
Only 2-3 years as they delivered in the past is completely unacceptable.
That’s funny, I didn’t find a G Super on Google, so I assumed you meant the G Pro. That would be mid-range, but also is kinda old…
But while researching the recent models on Gsmarena, I came across the G Power, which I would consider mid-range. That what you are meaning?
Thing is, like the G Stylus models mentioned somewhere else already, this seems to be North-America-exclusive.
So, enjoy the choices you still have over there, while they still exist! I am slightly envious, though… ;-)

They are low-end phones, though.
The point is, headphone jacks are completely gone from all mid-range and high-end phones.
With the exception of Sonys (which are overpriced for what you get).

Moto G84 from two years ago has been the last of their middle class phones with a 3.5mm jack.
Their flagships already dropped that long before.
On top of that, Motorola also started including ad-ridden crapware into their firmware.
I’m desperately searching for a decert replacement for my Moto G72, which will get its last security update in October.
There is just completely none that’s still featuring SD-card and headphone jack… :-(

Depending on the age of the EEE, you might run into problems because the old low end CPU doesn’t support instruction set extensions that are assumed to be present by distros nowadays. I think it was SSE2…?
Also I have the impression that lifetime of products has increased again over the past decade or so.
Still rocking my Sony ebook reader from 2011 and a Samsung Galaxy S5 as backup and Whatsapp handy. Both are using Micro USB, so I have a small cable with me anyways.
