I personally do think there is more to people than their political ideologies usually, even if I get upset with some of them for it.

I went to Reddit for the first time this month to speak up in a relevant thread about it and got a bunch of tone deaf replies about they‘d rather join Threads cause “its popular and you sound like crypto bros with the decentralised stuff” and also some “Lemmy was made by tankies” and so on.

You know what, I don‘t care, don‘t want these short sighted people here, let them get screwed a few more times by the corpos if they enjoy it so much.

This is why I am hesitant to buy a printer, I‘m still using a 10+y old laser printer. Only thing I miss is printing from Wifi, but hey, I‘d rather dig this thing out of the closet and connect with USB each time than be forced to make an account.

Learning about the concept of enshittification (https://www.wired.com/story/tiktok-platforms-cory-doctorow/) made me suspect that this might be going on with games too. I mean these always online and monetisation trends seem to suggest so.

Though for me it‘s also the age and work, quest logs remind me of ticket systems and grinding of more repetitive work and it all lost it‘s shine. I enjoy games still, but less often I would say.

If you want peace and quiet a workplace generally isn‘t it. Cities and towns in general, I think it drives a lot of us crazy this constant noise and bustle, so little quiet places. I found a corner behind some building in my workplace where rarely anyone ventures to take my break and that‘s the best I could do.

All the Slay the Spire achievements and did Ascension 20 until I could win most of them and get some streaks of like 5 or so at each character. I‘ve long since stopped and would lose a lot more now, but it was probably the most serious I‘ve ever gotten with a game.

For me since I quit smoking weed something in my mindset changed and it just seems like too much effort overall to play most games, especially bad with open world with hundreds of quests. The quest log tends to remind me of my ticket backlog at work.

I mainly play some small and quick to pick up and put down games with tight gameplay loops atm.

People I talk to have some excitement about my excitement, but also don‘t get it and are unlikely to change their habits, since they get whatever they seek on the centralised platforms.

I‘m cool though, it‘s like how Reddit used to be way back then, populated mostly some tech enthusiasts and it was nice like that.

Agreed, I hope we have more sympathetic and nicer people in charge while we run the world into the ground too!

Since I‘m a woman, I feel like maybe we could let some women help run the world into the ground too, just a lack of representation there that‘s a bit disappointing.

Totally, none of the more socialist countries have any of these issues whatsoever, completely climate neutral, zero emissions, zero toxic chemicals spills, no overfishing, no deforestation, no paving over everything with more roads and factories.
