How do you even curate a fb feed. When I tried that I got an algorithm that shoved “recommended” posts down my throat that got worse the further down I scrolled. Not to mention looking for posts older than a day is a pain because they’re not chronological. AND the cherry on top is when you finally reach the place where that post might be and the page just decides to reload. Awful, awful user experience.

I backed up my data and downloaded the iso before going to work, once I get home I’ll give it a shot.

I just want my computer to do what it’s told. Putting it to sleep and turning the mouse off doesn’t mean it should wake up, download and apply updates and remain awake only for me to find the search bar appeared again and a big red dot telling me what the former orange president of a country one continent and an ocean away said about something.

I used linux mint long ago. My biggest worry about a linux system is my Nvidia card.

My coworker opened edge when they added the new ai bullshit and thought the desktop was infected by a virus and started panicking.

I’m familiar with debian-based Linux distros and run Xubuntu on my travel laptop. It occasionally freezes and needs a forced reboot but otherwise runs ok. Any suggestions on what to install on this more powerful one? I use it for gaming but play older games.

Lately my cat starts meowing while standing at the shoe dresser. As soon as I go there he tries to climb on my shoulders. I bend over a bit and he climbs on my back and wants me to go around the house. I was enslaved as soon as he entered our home.

My cat is so food motivated he eats absolutely everything. Obviously has a preference for wet food with gravy so I buy a bunch of different flavours in bulk but he’s happy to eat the same thing every day. He also loves olives, bread (wholemeal more than white, sourdough has an advantage too. Local bakery bread is where things are really at. Supermarket bread is a mixed bag, he usually ignores it because it’s crap), seeds, nuts, potato chips, lentils, hummus, yogurt, and grass.

Not sure what type of insulin you’re using but most pens used in humance medicine are 3ml (100IU/ml, there are exceptions of course). That might be a better option. In fact our vet patients use your regular humane Lantus, Tresiba and Insulatard.

I would side on the cautious side of things and not give my cat expired insulin. I know some people do it and they’re just fine but I wouldn’t risk it.

I’ve been giving my cat Brit. A… Czech brand that he seems to totally love. Dry kibble in the mornings, wet food in the evenings. His water intake seems good that way. He has a sensitive stomach and so far this is one of the few brands he has no problems with. Hills is another brand that was ok but its quality isn’t much better than Brit at a higher price tag, it’s also owned by Colgate Palmolive.

While I agree, I live in an area where the tech I can afford is similar to what seems popular in India and SEA. I’m a visual learner and often times I end up on that part of YouTube when I need to repair something, and the best I’ve got is an Indonesian dude breathing solder fumes in the backyard of his makeshift shed at night. And you know what?

That was the most useful repair video I found and it helped a lot. And I found it because the title was in English.

I mean…I was like that when we first adopted our cat. Then we learned about respecting personal space and whaddya know, I haven’t been scratched in months (Last time was me trying to remove a small piece of thread from his mouth, to prevent him from eating it. He ate it anyway with no consequences and gave me a gash that left a scar.)

This is exactly what I’m doing right now. I play a game that I can play for 2 hours daily max and it’s fine, I can do without it easily. I also fell into the OW2 trap and I became unbearable to the people around me.

I feel like I didn’t word myself properly because I haven’t played WoW or any of the “problematic” games for 6 months now. I managed to keep myself occupied with cross stitching and books. It’s when I see footage/hear music that I get these feelings of wanting to play again.

I actually agree with you but the mental health communities on Lemmy haven’t caught up yet, and I figured one could find more people here that could relate.
