  • They’ve all been mentioned, but I want to second my favorites of all time

    • Pyre
    • DDLC
    • You me and Her a love story
    • Slay the Princess

My roommate just finished ‘Until Then’ last night and she was crying her eyes out, so I know it’s gonna be good, I just haven’t played it yet.

Edit: I almost forgot Tsukihime! It’s great with a few different routes that wildly change what the story is about, so highly recommended!

  • A lot of people are only passingly interested in video games. For people that just want to sit down and play something having to learn about the game and how it’s played is work, not entertainment. I can see how someone who only games maybe once a week could have some real fun playing a sports game. It’s very easy to pick up because they already know the rules. I don’t agree personally, for me games are the most fun when I’m interacting with a new mechanic, but I am also willing to grind for hours optimizing and learning to push the game to its limits. If you don’t have the time for all that, but you still want to game, sports games are a perfect entry point. Not even I can come up with a justification for the pricing though.

  • At first I thought I was having a stroke, then I realized it was a key. If I may ask, why spell everything out instead of just posting a copy and paste able code? Only thing I could come up with was to prevent bots from scraping codes out of comments, but I think it would still be pretty easy to parse it into a regular game code.

  • Honestly, it’s just the 14s that have the battery accessible through the back, and the back glass is still glued on, so it’s not even easier than previous generations. But removing the screen/back glass isn’t even the annoying part, it’s the awful adhesive strips that Apple uses that tear the instant you try to remove them. Always ends up with a bit of heat, alcohol and prying. Not really difficult to do if you have the tools on hand, but not even close to the ease of yesteryear when you could just pop the battery out.

  • (Context I uses to repair phones for everyone’s favorite insurance company Asurion, so my perspective is more about the physical device and components)

I fucking hate them. Super fragile AND super expensive. Not to mention if you have one and the screen protector get damaged manufacturers warranty only covers 1 replacement. Fixing that inner screen out of pocket is around $600-$700 which at that point is just buying an entirely new note or S-series phone. The only nice thing I can say is that the 4 Gen flips and folds are a bit sturdier than the first generation, so they are improving over time. Maybe by the fold 7 it will be in a place where consumers can buy and repair them for reasonable prices, but right now I always advise people to stay away.
