Clickbait title… But
I think this is a good idea; giving folks, by default, more control over what is going onto to their systems. Reduces the bloat and the ISO size is definitely useful in certain situations. Power of choice to the users!

Yeah I get you. And honestly so few games these days have an actual ending anyway. Open world, sandbox, ancillary objective, and multiplayer games have changed the way we look at games in general. I can’t remember the last time I “beat” a game. I mean maybe a few months ago when I finished the main storyline of No Man’s Sky, but did I really beat it? No, I just finished one of the many quests.
Super Mario 64 is a game you beat. Most games today, you just don’t.
I’ve used Relay for nearly 10 years, my entire time on Reddit. I’m sad to see things go this way and for the developer to play Reddit’s game. What a disappointment. I would love love LOVE if the same app infrastructure was focused on Lemmy/The Fediverse. It’s such a great app. What a shame to see it go this way.
So same protocol, different front end essentially?
Ah ok. Thanks for the info!
I’m new to all of this, can you explain the difference between Lemmy and Kbin? And why would Kbin get missed over initially?
I have it on my android but I haven’t played it yet. Thanks for the reminder!
Definitely Minecraft. Old Pokemon games as well. Just something about the grind is therapeutic
Well now this I’m interested in. Very interested. Paradox has made some dangerous games for me. This is definitely joining that list!!
I know how frustrating that is. There’s been times I’ve had time to work on it but just nothing was coming to me. I’ve found it helpful to explore new games and watch videos and even reading short stories to just jogging the ideas around. But even then sometimes you just get stuck. Keep trucking though!
I’ve been working on a D6 based RPG set around the Mediterranean, with establishing trade routes to the east as the main objective. It’s currently a mass of ideas and world building and a random splatter of the actual game mechanics. It’s something I only get to work on every couple of months for a handful of hours so it’s slow going, but it’s really fulfilling to work on.
1Password said they wanna do the same thing. It’s just so hard to believe that they’ll actually do it/be able to do it. Like can any company really be trusted?
