I am in a similar situation. I did just start using RSS and that has been interesting. Nice to get everything in one spot, with no ads, and it’s specifically what I’m interested in.
I love Audiobookshelf for audiobooks, didn’t realize it supported podcasts as well. I will have to look into that, thanks!
I don’t know that you can do it without an extension, however Mozilla has put out an extension called “Firefox Translations” that translates webpages locally on your computer with a downloaded dictionary. So far it works well in my experience, though I don’t know any other languages, so I can’t really speak to its accuracy. That being said, so far I haven’t come across any nonsensical translations.
Yeah, I have a very hard time trusting Microsoft.
Yeah, the DBD community is pretty bad.
I switched because Microsoft just keeps getting worse and worse, and I like having complete control over my system. And limiting the amount of my data going out.
Linux in general uses much less system resources than windows, and I like being able to easily change my workflow (desktop environment, window manager, etc).
I love incremental games as well. My favorite so far is Kittens Game.
That is a bummer, they were one of my go-to sites. Very sad to hear.
That is very true. This page is a good starting point: https://github.com/plenaryapp/awesome-rss-feeds. It has some interesting feeds, but it is very hard to find things “in the wild” now.
