I got accused of this the other day. Some random on Steam added me because he liked my profile pic. I was bored and decided to humor him. Two sentences in and he’s like “What’s with the ChatGPT sounding responses?”.

I honestly didn’t know how to react to that.

I have issues with YouTube playback specifically on my work laptop. At home it’s fine. It just started one day where videos sometimes fail to auto play and requires multiple refreshes. Even once they get going they often stall out and the progress bar goes all the way back to the beginning so I’ve gotten in the habit of taking notes of the time before I hit refresh and hope it comes back before I completely lose all interest.

I’d use Piped instead, but it has literally never once worked for me. Videos never load.

Yeah, this was my first thought as well as soon as I read the image. We have tons and tons of literally empty housing units. Even if you take away the ones that are only temporarily vacant while searching for a new tenant, you’re still left with a bunch of housing units that sit empty, waiting to be flipped for a profit by real estate investors.

No, those are usually embedded into the video itself as a segment by the content creator. However, SponsorBlock works really well and will automatically skip those bits for you (assuming someone else already put in the effort to mark the sponsored content).

I’ve tried this solution and it doesn’t work. Chrome is running within the Google News app. Even if you modify Chrome on your phone to have adblockers, the version of the browser that Google News opens is unmodified.

Click where? If this is from an in-app web browser, like Google News for instance, there’s no way to link it back to Firefox AFAIK.

Looking over my original post, perhaps my phrasing wasn’t clear. Yes, this is one way to decrease costs, but it comes at the expense of comfort. Airline companies are no stranger to this process, and have been rolling out new methods of packing as many passengers onto a plane as physically possible since the very first commercial airplanes took flight.

Awkward and regressive ideas like this, where the airlines are contemplating stacking people in uncomfortable looking double-decker seating to save precious inches of space are only coming out now because no significant strides have been made in making air travel less expensive to operate as a whole. It is always going to be easier to shave off a few inches of legroom and pack in another row of seating in the next generation of jet airliner than it is to invent a new type of jet fuel that is cheaper and burns cleaner without sacrificing performance, or developing a new more efficient fuselage that can fly just as far as a conventional plane while carrying less fuel, etc.

It would be nice to see air travel improve for a change, rather than continue to get worse and worse over time out of necessity.

Uh, you know, it is possible to care about two things at once. Wanting airline travel to be cheaper/more comfortable and also less environmentally unfriendly are not mutually exclusive positions.

As others have pointed out, making it more expensive isn’t going to get rid of air travel, it’ll just be reserved for the ultra-wealthy who will not give a damn either way.

The newer version from the link looks less bad than this picture, but still dystopian as fuck. We need to make airline travel cheaper somehow rather than having the airline industry come up with their own ideas to try and pack people in like cattle.

You have no guarantees on pay, benefits or work rules without unions either. The company can change those at any time or never change them at all.

At least a union will fight for those things on your behalf. A company has no incentive to do so and will actively oppose such things if it hurts their bottom line even slightly.

This flag is called “Thin Blue Line”, which is a pro-police symbol. The origin is from the thought that supposedly the only thing keeping peaceful society insulated from total anarchy is a “thin blue line”, or a small number of law enforcement officers who voluntarily put themselves between the two.

However, as noble as the origin sounds, the flag itself is only a modern artistic creation that can trace it’s actual creation to the counter-protest of the “Black Lives Matter” movement in support of the police (the ones who were the subject of accusations of racial bias and discrimination against blacks in America) and it often interpreted as a racist dogwhistle, supporting acts of police brutality, extrajudicial killings, and authoritarianism in general.

It’s a pretty right-wing affiliated symbol and you see it in conjunction with a lot of other conservative virtue signaling, iconography, and stereotypes.

My gripe with him isn’t so much his fight mechanic, it’s his absolutely massive hitbox that activates whenever it moves a centimeter.

Fighting him from the air is the most efficient, I’ve discovered, but I spent a good few attempts trying to get in close with the plasma blade and would see three quarters of my HP bar disappear because my recovery animation overlapped with the startup of his charge attack that shouldn’t have been able to hit me because I was to his side or rear.

The Cataphract has been my favorite fight so far. Really challenging, but really rewarding.

In my experience, you don’t have to compromise. You can take meta dual shotguns and two heavy hitting shoulder mounts and just vaporize enemies. Almost trivially, in fact.

The problem is, the game is not more fun if you force yourself into something like a melee hybrid build. It’s significantly harder and there’s less room for error when piloting lightweight ACs, so it’s no surprise that most people find the most comfortable build to be one where you have high health and damage mitigation, insane burst DPS, and stunlock potential.

In short, there’s not a good balance between the different playstyles and difficulty. Some bosses are actually really fun to fight, but two or three of them have made my shit list already just due to the nonsense you are forced to put up with. Juggernaut, Balteus, and Sea Spider are the three biggest offenders right now.

Oh look, a boss fight. Will this be a fair-and-balanced skill-based experience? Or will it be a DPS race against the clock and hoping I get good RNG on the enemy attack patterns so I don’t die to mostly unavoidable or unreactable damage?
