I download a lot of non playstore apps how can I check they don’t have this issue? I don’t think I downloaded anything sketchy but maybe.

Thanks I’m gonna give it a go
I started on Emacs and then didn’t use it for a few years and forgot everything so now I’m stuck on Nano. But that’s fine because nano does everything I want it to do.
Is zsh a terminal or a language like bash? I don’t get what it is from reading descriptions
25% Camel case, 25% Pascal and 50% of the time flatcase. It drives me insane when I try and autocomplete a folder only to realise it was Downloads instead of downloads. I keep telling myself i will go through and make it all flatcase but I put it off because i tell myself i will rebuild my computer next week every week.
I know you specifically asked for not this but its the only game i know that is a good rpg on mobile. You could play old school Runescape. Its essentially single player since there aren’t many parts of the game that require co operation. You will see other players walking around the world and talking but you can turn public chat off so you never need to see anything they say. The game is incredibly light on data usage since it was designed as a browser game in the 2000s.
There is the overkill method of proxmox clustering VMs. You could work from a cloud instance of your distro. There is NixOS, you would clearly define your whole system and then back up and import your home folder when switching between the PCs. Since you are using an immutable distro already you can probably skip nix and use a onedrive type solution setup to sync your home directory. I havent used it but other people have suggested Syncthing and it seems like it would work for your use case and be the simplest option.
After reading that I still don’t understand what an xdg intent is. Is there a simple explanation?
I also got way to upset by this as a child. I thought that the moon was falling behind and would miss traveling across the night sky.
I got a chromebook with 2gb RAM, the shittiest CPU and 16gb of storage. Slapped arch on it and it works great for watching movies and youtube.
You should give portal reloaded a go. They just released co op mode. Its not an official portal game but it feels like one.
I’m using prism for modded MC and its pretty good. It allows me to easily manage multiple modpacks and versions.
Ubuntu is a great distro. It’s performant, ,its stable, its well configured it looks nice out of the box. For seasoned Linux users they can be more picky with which their distro but as an intro to Linux I always recommend mint and Ubuntu.
Windows updates don’t happen automatically in an Enterprise environment. They are tested and pushed out once the version is determined to be stable.
In comp sci our labs ran fedora and I didn’t even know what Linux was I just laughed at the computer saying fedora. I thought I was on Mac tbh.
Slackware chads probably still think it’s 1990 and the worlds going great.
Do you want this social media to be for your family to use only with family members or for them to use with family and beyond?
Revolt could be good as a local family group chat if you like the discord style. You’ve probably already tried it but Pixelfed/mastodon/misskey sound like the easiest to get family on board with and seem like they would be good family social media platforms IMO.
