I have a small setup for some self hosted apps and media.
- Beelink Mini S.
- 2 external 5TB drives.
- A USB fan used as an exhaust because the SSD inside gets a bit warm.
I think total power is about 30W.

Is there any launcher that works well with Pixel’s transition animations when using gesture mode? I haven’t tried for a few years because there would be weird animation glitches from things like switching apps or going back to the home screen.
This is a great example of the rude way to use that phrase.
This reminds me of KFC and how they switch from “Honey” to “Honey Sauce”.
Wait… You can’t even do continuous heart rate monitoring and logging without a subscription. YIKES!
This is what I ended up doing last year and it’s been great.
I host my own HumHub for just my extended family. It’s basically Facebook but there’s only about 25 people and no external nonsense like ads or news.
I’m turning 40 this year and what’s been refreshing after not gaming for the last 5 years or so has been playing older games from the 2000s that I’ve missed. Great prices on these older titles and I’ve been having a blast playing them.
I had stopped gaming for about 5 years to focus on my career and starting a family. I’m now turning 40 this year and have been dabbling with games again but nothing really stuck until I started the Trails in the Sky trilogy. I ended up playing it a few hours every other night. Something about it was so refreshing that I’m now about to wrap up the 3rd game.
Like others have mentioned, perhaps your mood or perspective changes as you get older and it’s just about finding the right game to play.
People are mad that Sync isn’t FOSS. Luckily, the sink you posted has a FOSS-et.
Ever? That sounds too good to be true. Especially with that much RAM.
-edit-
Oh wow, I see their always free tier and it’s true. Impressive!
This looks more like Steam where users actually download and install the games.
I’m usually a lot of what others are posting. One of my favorites so far has been HumHub. It’s a social media platform that’s like an old-school Facebook before all the news and ads. Currently have about 20ish members and it made available just for my large extended family. A lot of us already left Facebook so it’s nice to have a similar set of features just for us without outside influences.
I left FB and Instagram about 3 years ago. At first I felt sad because I was “disconnected” from my large network of hundreds of people I know or have met. The truth was the majority of these “friends” weren’t actually participating in my life at all. Those networks for most part were just allowing for some sort of passive consumption of our lives and when I had finally left, it was great. The hour or so I would spend trying to “keep up” with everyone was given back to me and it was refreshing to catch up with friends because we actually get to catch up.
Recently though, I spun up an instance of a private social network just for my family using a web app called HumHub. There’s about 20 members and we use it just for our small family. No outsiders, no ads, no spam, just us. It takes me back to a time where social media was simple.
I’m about 40 hours into Trails To Azure and it’s been a blast going through The Legend Of Heroes and the Trails series in order.
