I didn’t realize you could put the steam deck to sleep with a game still running. I had assumed it would cause game issues.

When I think about what I would do if I suddenly found myself transported to another world, the last thing I would be doing is looking for a job as a mercenary. As stupid as a lot of the plot is, I really like Striving for a Luxury Liner simply because the MC recognizes that he’s not cut out to be an adventurer and becomes a merchant instead.
The only isekai I’ve read that properly utilized the isekai genre was Release that Witch since the MC’s “cheat” is his knowledge of mechanical engineering. He kicks off his own little industrial revolution to defend his territory.
My main critique of the genre is how lazy it’s done. There’s nothing wrong with having the MC reincarnated, transported, or made overpowered. One Punch Man has a massively overpowered MC but it’s still really good. The problem is that they’re all low effort cookie cutter stories that are just checking items off a list.
They’re also fairly unrealistic. “Gasp…is this that isekai thing I’ve been reading about? I guess I’ll go join the Adventurer Guild and get a super dangerous job killing monsters despite the fact that I’ve never been in a dangerous situation before.”
There’s no way all these random people will just calmly accept finding themselves in another world with no freaking out or depression setting in first.
The difference this time is that my computer literally can’t run Win 11. I’m not throwing away a perfectly good PC just because of Win 11’s hardware requirements.
I imagine he’s like Ghost Rider and can tell with a glance if someone is guilty or not by seeing their soul. If the entity has a soul, then he knows. Goldfish? Probably not. Sapient reindeer? Definitely.
In the meme example you wouldn’t, but if you were trying to figure out Something like 2% of 5, it’s easier to do (2 * 5)/100=0.1 then to do .02 * 5 or .05 * 2.
My comment was mainly pointing out that you can multiply those numbers in whatever order you want.
You could also do 6*50 and then divide by 100.
My favorite analogy is: You don’t have to choose what’s for dinner, but you’re going to be forced to eat whatever was chosen.
Ever since I was old enough, I’ve voted in every single election I was eligible for. I don’t care what people say or how unlikely it was for my candidate to win, I would still get out and vote.
I have similar feelings regarding all the RGB lighting on computer hardware. I have to drape a towel over my mouse just so I can sleep in peace.
I’m really bad with this in games. I even hoarded iron back when I still played Minecraft simply because it was a resource I couldn’t infinitely produce.
Cobblestone generator = use only cobblestone tools
What I find surprising is that this is done by hand. I would have assumed it would be some assembly line process.
I had to read both of your comments and then really work my brain to figure it out.

I don’t understand why everyone is so shocked they did it. Hosting information on pirating stuff is a lightning rod for lawsuits and Lemmy.world is large enough to actually get noticed.
I’m only surprised it took them that long to block it.
Why don’t they just raise their prices a bit? Adding a “not” tip to the bill just seems odd.
When I first played Morrowind, I was quite surprised when people took offense to me robbing them of all they owned. Now when I play games I’m never sure if theft is a crime or not.
I feel like the best way to handle the situation with similar/same communities on different instances is to allow communities to automatically federated with other communities. That way subscribing to one community will show you its posts and all the posts to its linked communities.
It would be especially helpful for these general purpose communities like Technology or News since I would imagine most communities are going to have one.
If that happens then we wouldn’t need to hunt down and follow every single instance of the same community. Let the mods handle it on their end to save the rest of us the effort.
I agree. It’s really annoying that now a bunch of incredibly helpful information has disappeared. This might hurt Reddit but it also hurts everyone else who might have benefited from it.
If it has a portable version then I might give it a try. I’m always a fan of portable software.
I don’t know how relevant this is to you but I was looking at getting a Boox since it would easily let me read my Kindle and Kobo books on a single device without any hassle. However, it achieves this by running their apps so the books are segregated. There’s no one library with all your books. Your Kindle books are only on the Kindle app, your Kobo books are only on the Kobo app, your library books are only on the Libby app.
It sounded really tedious to have to flip between a bunch of different apps to track all my books so I decided to just stick with Kobo.
