To OPs defense, i didn’t put 1 and 1 together until you spelled it out either. Wouldn’t have crossed my mind that the smell in an enclosed space would bother you.
Regardless of the rest i hope your daughter enjoyed her treat!

I’m the same, i like the way my truck looks. Is it great these days? Nope it’s an old 08 with a little rust, ok a lot but hush, i love it anyway. Do i need a truck 97% of the time? Nope but that 3% of the time i do its amazing. And those people i pull out of random ditches in the winter will appreciate it I’m sure.
Agreed. If your employer is happy with your work they probably wouldn’t be using this software.
The problem is you can’t/shouldn’t install the software on a single person’s computer as that is targeting them and against several labor laws.
Moral of my story, don’t be the reason someone needs to install this type of monitoring/software.
I mean… you should be working right? That is what you are getting paid by the company to do. If you are able to get your job done in less than the time/activity needed by the software that’s another issue.
If you are working from home you are still supposed to be working that is your agreement with your employer. Sure do the bare minimum if you want, but you still need to get your job done.
It’s the people that are taking advantage of the work from home that risk it for the rest of us actually working from home.
I went down this rabbit hole last night. This dude accurately summs it all up in about 10 minutes. First 10 minutes of the video
If you have time there are more, longer, videos in the video description
This is what gets me. I look into software for my company. Someone put up a open source alternative. I expressed my concerns with a small open source project and they acted like i murdered his first born. Well past the point of unprofessional and into the HR realm.
I’m not against open source by any means but there is a place for everything. This just was not the place for this specific product with only a handful of devs and no support. If a system goes down we need to have someone we can call.
That’s what gets me on these things. If you want to be a dick and make sure your car isn’t hit go park or in the boonis! Nobody goes out there, don’t have to worry about carts, take as many spots as you want! Shoot for a record of you want try to get 6! But why tf are you doing it in close parking spots?
Connect for lemmy has gotten better now that i can hide posts without interacting with them.
I would rather not assume someone is just out to troll. I’m sure in a life-threatening circumstance, they could do any of the lines you listed.
But if they don’t have to and could just pay a little more for someone delivering it oh well. Will they pay through the nose for the convenience? Sure. Is it still a lot of money for the convenience? Yes.
Given how active flying squid is I don’t think he is just out here intentionally trolling. I could be wrong.
