Here is what I’m getting.
I’m almost ready to give up on my dream of establishing a perfectly tuned version of Fedora that I can deploy on all my computer just through Clonezilla…

Hi again. Here is what it gave me:

Here is what I’m getting after running through the steps you kindly gave me. The second part is the part where I’m probably not doing right…
Thanks for the help but I don’t understand anything from the message on askubuntu.
I’ve tried the sudo mount/dev/sda3 /mnt part though…
Sorry for my lack of terminal skills
Thanks for the precise answer adapted to a rookie like me😇😅
Sadly it ain’t working. I guess the GRUB installing part which is problematic.
Well I’ve tried again with a new image from my Surface Go that I’ve just created with Clonezilla. All I’m getting is a black screen with — on the left side without anything happening.
The computer I’m trying to clone the image on is an old Acer Aspire 5737z.
Well to be honest I don’t remember exactly how it didn’t work on my other computer since it was months ago.
I just want to future proof the ability to clone my Surface Go install on any future computer just in case.
Really useful tool!
It even helped me as my Surface Go didn’t want to boot on a USB drive, but accepted to boot on it through Ventoy.
It’s one of these miracle software 👍
Even with just 8gb of Ram you can have a windows 10 vm to do the only few things you can’t on Linux. It’s gonna be really slow but if you need it once a year it’s fine.
I also discovered that these are pretty cheap and really upgradeable while looking great.
I would never buy anything from Apple new, but old Mac Pro or MacBook Pro are really tempting.
Converted my fiancée ´s 2012 MacBook Pro to Linux two years ago and it’s a great machine which shouldn’t be collecting dust.
Sometimes people underestimate the treasures they have lying around 😅
Sometimes making an iThing (iPhone) work with another iThing (Fiancée ´s Apple TV) isn’t as easy as it should. Streaming the nba app from my phone to the Apple TV was a nightmare a few years ago. Now I just use my PlayStation as the nba is hostile to Linux even in a browser.
So, taking into account the fact that Linux is free and works on almost any hardware, I can only congratulate the people making Linux possible.
I’m not really into PC gaming, but the more gaming possibilities you have on Linux, the better it’ll be👍
Fedora on Surface Go 1 with Surface kernel:
I never uses it only as a tablet except on holidays if I watch a movie on a hotel bed. It spends most of its time linked to a big screen, but I’m really happy with it except for how slow it is to pick up my mouse Bluetooth signal or the fact that the battery is often depleted for no reason when I turn the Surface on.
It is my only PC and is powerful enough to do everything I need it for, which is admin, web browsing and old strategy games.
I’m also going to buy some Linux stickers soon, but I want the money to be used to support Linux, so just some printshop is out of question.
But I don’t think any of the money would end up helping some Linux project.
I love seeing these screenshots of old Linux distributions as it makes me realize how much things have improved.
I’m just a consumer but I really appreciate the work everyone has done and I ain’t going back to Windows anymore.
I’ve only installed Linux on one Mac (MacBook Pro 2012) and it was easier than on my Microsoft Surface Go 1 to be honest.
Here’s what I’m getting:
I don’t think I’ve set up anything particular, so I guess my install is different than yours because Fedora changed something. But clearly that change doesn’t help me;-)
