An apt post title, lovely use of color!
I get push notifications with mull 🤷🏻
I made an HTML page once in elementary school for an elective, and I also don’t get it :)
I just wanna be a part of the conversation lol. But also what the fuck even is this meme 😅
Someone mentioned that it wasn’t being maintained anymore, but if I try void again I’ll have to take a look at that. Though its definitely not the same as a traditional app store interface like gnome software (flawed though it may be) where you can see the icon, screenshots, even reviews, and I would definitely really miss that functionality when browsing for something. And given I use gnome it may be hard to make it look at home on my desktop
I was really enjoying learning how to try and set up void, but I really like having access to a graphical app store thats easy to browse 😢 someday I’ll have to revisit it
A gtk app for YouTube and/or twitch intended for media PCs would be neat, with controller/remote support and ui optimization for air mice.
I don’t like the ux of kodi very much and trying to get it to play YouTube has been a nightmare 😅 a simple app with a decent user interface would be very welcome
As someone who much prefers gnome for my desktop this shit is so frustrating. I’m kinda just waiting and watching to see if they ruin another thing I like about it :(
Its fucking exhausting
Dude thats dope!
Sneel for the clag
Yeah, I’ve been using it for a few years now. Not really given me any issues so I don’t have any reason to use X again, but my use case is pretty basic 🤷
As a largely non-technical linux enjoyer I have such a hard time understanding why people hate systemd so much. If I switched to a distro that uses another init system would my experience be better?
Like I get that the complaint is partially the philosophy, but it sounds like you also have problems with it in practice and I just can’t really relate to that. I dunno, maybe I just wouldn’t notice if there are problems happening with how my init system is working 🤷
Good post, thank you for blessing my feed with his presence
Happy I could help ☺️
Have good one!
Even if you aren’t necessarily looking for a Foss/private stuff I think folks should know not to use evernote by now. It’s been an ever-worsening garbage heap for a long time. When I was in highschool I used it a LOT for a while, and pretty quickly shitty changes started to become commonplace, and it’s been exclusively downhill from there.
If you’re still using it, its worth looking through the huge number of competitors for something else; you have no shortage of alternative options at this point
Maps.me used to be open source, I believe the Foss continuation of the project is Organic Maps. Thats not necessarily relevant to OPs question, but it’s worth knowing about :)
Is the alternative routes being a slightly desaturated blue also a part of this color change, or is that just some garbage they’re a/b testing? Cause thats like a ui/ux sin.
I’m operating a fucking car, I need to be able to see where my turn is and discriminate between the path I’m on, and the path I could choose instead you assholes
On one hand I agree schadenfreude is a dangerous thing that one should be careful about how they engage in
On the other hand he wields a LOT of power over our discussions as a society because he owns a successful platform. If twitter fails it takes away some of his power to be a shithead and to shape our discussions in a way that sucks (ie, inviting everyone to be bigots and to be cruel to their fellow humans on a scale that’s frankly kinda horrifying)
For me it definitely looks different, are you sure you have the new version…? They’ve updated a lot of the UI elements to material design 3, but kept all the same layout and whatnot
I really like it so far! Feels like a really welcome refresh
