This sucks (Was it really costing much money to run?) but as long as Firefox continues to work with full-flavor ublock I’m happy.
Why are they angry? Are you providing evidence in your comments or just ranting?
It’s centralized and for-profit. They will have to do ads eventually or shut down.
Is there crypto stuff in Firefox? Also I like the Pocket integration…
Exactly, it also means we can have different regions for different types of conversations, much like in the real world.
Why would someone who doesn’t like blocking and de-federation like “federated platforms”?
“You censored me for my opinion”
“What opinion was it?”
“…”
“What opinion was it Anakin?”
TrueNAS is fine but the dead-simplest I’ve ever seen is CasaOS which has one-click network file sharing.
Exactly. I remember when my favorite teacher said “This is a textbook. Check it out sometime”.
Eh, just because you can’t make a horse drink water is no reason not to lead it there.

Things like what?
They’ve been extremely transparent about this:
I do that too! And fwiw haven’t had to manually configure auto-mount for other drives in a while.
Honestly, for a good distro, the brand is not great. Perhaps this can be viewed good opportunity to go with something more unique!
Nobody’s mentioned Homarr or CasaOS but if you want an out of the box “Just works” but still open source experience they’re the best bet.
This might be the most lemmy comment I’ve ever seen.
If you’re not familiar, 404 Media is definitely worth supporting. High quality, no-bullshit journalism.
Dude SAME. I find it extremely hard to believe that Google would astroturf Lemmy but it really does feel like all of a sudden in the past ~month a bunch of vague or minor complaints being repeated over and over in every thread.
