I have had to help so many end users with that it pains me.
“How can I stop this from happening again?”
Well, we can disable.other audio devices, but seeing as it’s Windows 11 they may just re-enable good luck!
I ran into a user who’s noise cancellation stopped working upon the rollout of “New” Teams. Tried diagnosing the microphone array, settings updates, firmware. No luck.
Know what worked? Both versions of browser based Teams!!! Ihatethemihatethemihatethem
My boss has gotten to the point of “As Ashe would say, fucking Microsoft”
Let’s not forget the endless name changes, 404’d documentation that points to non existent tools all of the time, the GUI that barely works. Always an adventure
They must have some intense data retention policies. You can configure compliance levels to allow anyone into their Outlook acct using the app without any special permissions pretty easily.
Good on them to cut down access like that
You don’t understand though, because it’s not physical (software of any kind) and even if it is (any hardware) because you aren’t constantly doing something it’s not work!!
As an admin who got push back from the sales team, everyone has… Unique perspectives on what is and isn’t work.
It’s insane. The documentation is often times half accurate and feels like navigating a minefield of half truths, depreciations and context clues to find the solution to problems.

Only if you have an E5 license! If you have an E3 it’s still compliance and you can trial purview features
I’ll be so honest, the best android emulator is just downloading the Android SDK. You can pull off anyyyyy set up you want.
I love going to Entra (azure), the authentication manager (admin, legacy and Entra), the defender dashboard for DLP, wait no compliance, and then uh, what license do I need for this? It’s a NIGHTMARE navigating their depreciated shit. Absolutely unreal
The vibe can vary pretty drastically from instance to instance, regardless of federation. Ultimately in the bigger communities it doesn’t matter at all though
I may be biased buttttttt gonna have to agree

It’s part of why masks becoming commonplace during covid was so cool, and the epitome of freedom from that bullshit. But there was a crowd of people who constantly speak against their own best interests in the name of freedumb who said otherwise.
Even if it is, “loss protection” departments now just track it until they have enough to make a charge stick. What a lot of corpos do is track theft though until they have enough incidents to exceed that threshold. This is tracked via loyalty cards, card numbers, facial recognition, and license plate readers.
Allegedly gait analysis could be used as well.
I lived with my partner and her parents for a couple of years. At some point her mom started getting more groceries from Walmart; around that time I started having badddd reactions to the food. She doesn’t get groceries from Walmart anymore.
The car has some form of AT&T GSM connectivity. I recently discovered a WiFi hot spot setting and it’s a paid service provided by AT&T. I am able to schedule service appointments via the car, and it has an SOS button and an “Info” button that primarily is for roadside assistance. I’d prefer to be able to disable it. I was gonna say I thought Subaru was a bit better. Buttttt it looks like I’m wrong.
This looks like a Subaru. That being said, from what I’ve parsed, their privacy policy looks better than most. My 2021 hasn’t had any obnoxious OTA updates. The worst it does is push easily dismissed service notifications. No secret codes on how to reset a light.
Not the windows troubleshooter, as the mic was otherwise fine. There was nothing I could find in any Teams settings, and the admin panel showed all of the telemetry as being fine.
