If you’re planning on gaming, and you have an NVIDIA card, then I would like to recommend Bazzite. I’ve been using it for months, and I’m very happy with it. Have it installed to my Steam Deck as well as my PC.

I had this problem, but after not being able to resolve it I tried Bazzite and found the gaming experience was much better there anyway, so switched. This problem doesn’t exist on that distro.

Even in the US, a corporate monopoly trying to force people to use their browser will trigger an antitrust lawsuit from the government. Microsoft has already faced one for what they did with Edge, and they didn’t even do DRM.

Besides, it’s YouTube. If you can’t use it anymore, it’s not gonna be the end of the world.

People are acting as if losing YouTube and other Google services is the end of the world. It is not. You don’t need Google, even if you use Android.

They refuse to do it because the idea has absolutely no merit to it. If there’s a virus on your computer that could steal your data, it can just wait till you unlock that data to steal it. There is zero practical benefit to implementing your suggestion.

To clarify, the location service is turned on remotely during an emergency call or after texting an emergency number to let first responders know where an emergency is, but it is turned off afterwards by the phone if it was disabled beforehand. And it’s only turned on during the call that the user initiates, emergency services cannot remotely turn it on, because it is the phone that actually manages the permissions and computes the location and not the dispatcher. Neither Android nor iOS allows emergency services to remotely turn on location services without you calling them first, since that would be a violation of your privacy and would absolutely be abused by law enforcement.

So everyone should be advised that you cannot check the location of a loved one unless you arrange it before you end up needing it.

It’s better because you don’t have to worry about ratios or finding torrents with seeders. You just download the media at whatever the maximum speed your connection can handle is. So you could, for example, download a 4gb episode for something 30 seconds after Sonarr checks for it.

As for the technical aspects, you don’t have to worry too about it, because since you use Sonarr it will handle most of the work, just like it does with torrents. The only problem I’ve found is there’s often not a lot of lower quality stuff on Usenet, so unless you tweak your Sonarr settings you’re gonna end up downloading 40gb anime episodes, because that’s the first thing Sonarr finds.

I tried it with Cyberpunk 2077 and the latency was so low I couldn’t notice it. I had no issues weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds.

It’s really a matter of whether your ISP can handle it. Many of those in the US cannot because there’s not a lot of regulations regarding the minimum quality of service they have to provide.

Purge your filters and redownload. It’s a problem on your end.

As others have suggested, the Steam Deck fits your need. Get the cheapest model, because it’s cheaper to upgrade than it is to buy the top tier model. I did that, swapped out the SSD in like five minutes, and slapped on an etched glass screen protector.

The only privacy add-on you need is uBlock Origin with script blocking and advanced mode enabled, installed on Firefox. Better yet, LibreWolf, although a few websites will be broken by LibreWolf. There are no other privacy add-ons that are necessary beyond uBlock Origin.

I mean, you can install them if you want, but they won’t do anything.

The reason is most likely the same as it was for most Linux newcomers. They’ve used Windows for a long time, and aren’t to the point where they are comfortable enough to cut Windows off entirely.

Well, the article is about Android, the operating system. It isn’t about those hardware companies.

Unless you have a reason to keep Windows, for example some software you depend on that doesn’t run under Linux, just get rid of windows. There’s no real reason to keep it around if you don’t need it for a particular reason.

I mean, that’s not a huge amount more than androids market share. And that’s just the US, worldwide android has something like 70% market share. As long as it’s dominating worldwide, it’s not gonna die out in the US.

Look, android lost the lead in market share, but it’s still a huge part of the market. It’s not dying off for years to come, if it even does.

No, glasses don’t fix the shape of your eye, but they do correct for that uneven shape. I would know, because they’ve corrected my vision and it’s now crystal clear after being blurry from astigmatism for years. It sounds to me like your prescription just isn’t quite right, because you shouldn’t have any issues if they had nailed it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not dismissing that you have a problem, and I’m not defending Steam or saying they shouldn’t have more accessible options for those with sight issues. What I’m saying is it really sounds like your glasses aren’t where they need to be, and that’s why you’re having issues. With the tech they use to make lenses these days, you should definitely be able to dial in a prescription to get perfectly clear vision with astigmatism.

OK, in that case I would see about getting a new eye doctor, if you can. If they were doing their job right, they should have made sure the prescription you got corrected the astigmatism. My doctor worked with me to get it perfectly right, so I don’t have any issues anymore with small text, including on Steam.
