  • Congratulations Bonnie! I was worried.

Pyro didn’t do as well as Bonnie. Pyro succumbed to lymphoma on Wed the 7th. She went downhill that morning, we got a confirmation of lymphoma rather than Addison’s disease, and she crossed the rainbow bridge within hours, smelling me the entire time. She got at least 5/8 good years, and one last night of cuddling me closer than she ever had. She laid on my face rather than my armpit.

Hydro mourned for about 5 minutes. I’m probably going to miss Pyro, and eventually Hydro, forever.

  • On Dec. 3 1941, the US as a whole was quite content supplying the allies with everything they needed materially. We had told the USSR to just make tanks, we would give them everything else, including the ammunition for said tanks. Letting the USSR take a win was certainly preferable to what happened after they took a loss at the end of WWI.

I wonder what could have possibly happened on Dec. 4, 1941, that got the country to collectively say, “Fuck that. We aren’t sitting by anymore.”

That’s kinda how the very small percentage of humans that aren’t lactose intolerant became lactose tolerant. The only way you can be lactose tolerant, as over 80% of humans are lactose intolerant, is to be descended from mid-northern European ancestry. Basically the proto Germanic and proto Southern Nordic tribes force fed themselves so much cheese and milk that they became lactose tolerant.

  • Democracy can and will work once a simple rule is implemented. Namely: no one who wants the power to rule should ever be allowed anywhere near power. Of course the rich won’t allow such a law to be passed, and enforcing it is the stuff of thought crime dystopic nightmares, but I’m sure we can overcome those small issues.
