An empty insult. There have been numerous sexual allegations against Mao in a way that don’t exist for more recent Chinese Leaders. Believing Women or admitting that it may be possible at least doesn’t make someone a western chauvinist. That’s just chaffing at anyone who offers any criticism whatsoever.

by imagining that communists would also be pedophiles?

    Anyone can be a pedo.

Hey, Xi Jinping is still alive, how come he isn’t in the files?

I find it hard to believe that the Leader of China with access to his own intelligence agencies would be foolish enough to fall for a blackmail operation run by a guy with ties to Mossad, Trump, and the Saudi Royal family; assuming he even was a pedo. He might even be monogamous to his wife for all we know though information of his private life isn’t widely available.

Any kind of socialism is mutually exclusive from classical liberalism; not necessarily on every bullet point but broadly speaking. The common thread among the various socialist ideologies is typically that the economy and society exist to provide for the needs of the people.

  • that they can’t imagine a society that doesn’t work that way

Well I’m imagining a classless, borderless society where everyone’s needs are met and it is fantastic.

You think this is a normal way for a government to be

Nothing about the US government is normal unless in the context of an Empire rapidly approaching the point of collapse.

and you think the smart thing to do is assume everyone is like the US

I have enough knowledge to know that in both better and worse situations, other countries do things often very different and assume as much but try not to assume details. Luckily I’m well read.

  • Just years of reading. That you bring up the anti-corruption campaign means you’re at least familiar with allegations that Xi unevenly applied the campaign against his political opponents. As a side not, I’ll say the anti-corruption campaigns in China are definitely popular and also one clear situation where improvements in computer technology made a major advance in society and peoples quality of life. Corruption of low level officials was hard to root out when the people would be making complaints to other corrupt low level officials and risking retaliation in the process. Computer technology helped bypass that.
