I think ultimately it is just that they are working to turn the cylinder that moves the cog that elevates the resources upward and then they’re hoping they get some overspill.

Wait so if you get banned you can’t even access your own information anymore?
Used to be my favorite launcher and I, too, abandoned it. Sad, really.
Oh my gosh, that’s actually a plausible idea…thanks!
My cat does this is one room of the house…regularly (3-4 times a week)…and there is never anything there.
It’s super super weird. He’ll run into the room then immediately and aggressively look up and stare at the ceiling. Nearly every. single. time. And we can’t figure out why.
It’s been a thing for 2 years now.
I wonder if it’s possible that they’re paid money by Google to not support Firefox?
My wife and I realized recently that both our phones are 80% photos of our animals, 10% memes, 5% food and like 5% of actual people.
Which is a pretty good ratio.
This makes no sense. In my entire software development career, no government agency ever built an app in-house. It’s always contracted, to random individuals or companies. So this badge is garbage.
I miss my LG phone that let me customize the LED color based on app. That way if it were one color I knew it was semi-important, but other colors I knew were…dismissible.
I mean, yes and no. I have multiple Slack and multiple Teams instances. I also have 10 or so email accounts and then SMS and Signal.
Even spammy app notifications aside, I definitely get a lot.
But my solution is just leaving my phone on silent 24/7. So this feature wouldn’t really change anything.
I just set my phone to silent a couple years back and have never been happier. Have I missed a few phone calls? Yeah, but that is acceptable collateral damage.
I otherwise check on my own terms and that’s fine by me…(read: I pick up my phone, notice the number of notifications, and just click Clear All)
I have to do it quarterly for some reason. Annually would be…better, but still stupid. My doctor even thinks it’s dumb, so he usually just asks me all the rote questions…
…no he doesn’t, he usually goes blahblahblah you’ve been doing this for 10+ years we know the routine. Unfortunately I still have to make an appointment, have an appointment, pay the deductible for said appointment, just to get 3mos of a medication that, thus far, I have a medical need for.
My now wife didn’t really like cats when I met her and was allergic to the point of the hair giving her little welts.
Fast forward a couple few years and she loves my cat and just ends up taking allergy pills every day and dealing with the itching.
Fast forward a few more years when that cat dies and she says she doesn’t think we can ever replace him.
Fast forward one month and she comes home with a flyer for a rescue cat she wants to adopt.
And we did and she couldn’t be happier.
I really don’t understand the Material allure.
I build web apps as a job and the impression I get is that everyone wants Material, “because” - but I don’t know if anyone wants it other than “because” it’s the buzzword of the day.
And it always sucks because the clients always say, “Follow Material guidelines BUT make this smaller, make this less round, use this font we paid for, make the buttons different, and also customize all these components”.
It’s dumb.
Ahh, okay, that makes some sense. Thanks!
Yeah, my bad, that’s what I do - so I just wasn’t sure what the benefit of SimpleLogin was…fully open to admit maybe I’m missing something though.
I basically create an email alias for every service I use and when leaks happen I know exactly who the offender is - which is nice…I guess.
Serious question, why SimpleLogin vs Proton aliases?
My wife and I started living together after 3 months, talking marriage at 6, and formally engaged at 9 months. We’ve been married over 6 years now.
I don’t have time for high school nonsense. I’m not going to burn 1+ years of my life on a “maybe”. The older I get, the better I learn what I want and don’t want.
We both had similar goals, or rather, goals that we could grow in together and not go separate ways. We had a shared sense of humor. My weaknesses were her strengths and vice versa. And we have activities we love doing together and things we love doing alone. It’s fucking great.
I guess I see what you’re saying, especially since there’s a call-out to someone falling backwards on the left side.
If I had to guess it’s to showcase the grind can’t last forever, but I suppose it could introduce that ambiguity that causes pause.
