What is doing more harm to the environment is people paying for prime, and giving amazon the money to build more data centers, and to drain more drinking water supplies to cool them. 🙄

Amazon gives out free prime all the time.
I think I’ve had 2 one month free primes, and 1 free week of prime, so far this year. Of course I take it, and burden their servers by leaving shit streaming as often as I can, with absolutely no return on investment for them.

Nah, its the Hydra of streaming.
You subscribe, thinking you’ve won, and you just have 9 other things pop up to have to subscribe to under prime to actually watch what you want to watch.
Gotta have subscriptions in your subscriptions, so you can subscribe while subscribing.

Well, Samsung is enshitified with its newer phones, that I have no doubt that an S24 would run non-samsung shit poorly to force you to use samsung shit.

This makes me think that the people who install brave, are the people who, 15-20 years ago, would have a IE install that was half toolbars.
God…remember all the scammy toolbars for IE? and how they could take up half the damn screen on some peoples machines?

Whats going on with RetroArch? I havent really paid attention/kept up since I set up my last Raspberry Pi.

What phone were you using?
I I’ve never had any issue with firefox, with regards to battery or scrolling, but i use 8 year old flagship (Got it used, I’m not Mr.Moneybags)… which is probably still better than a budget phone of today, though.

I thought people gave up on Tor years ago when it was revealed that it wasnt as anonymous as people expected due to the number of entry and exit nodes controlled by governments and spy agencies.

The chances are pretty high that is probably Kims computer, arent they?

i’unno, I just know that every person I’ve ever known that bought a samsung device that was not a phone, they ended up fighting through multiple warranty repairs and service visits before inevitably getting a refund.

I just find it astonishing that Samsung still makes appliances… Considering how awful they are at doing it, and how much money they have to lose for the dozen+ warranty repair visits they inevitably have before ultimately refunding the device.
Maybe thats why they have screens, So their appliance division can finally turn profit by advertising you until their device dies

Most of its just AI generated websites. Search for any topic and you’re likely to get 50 AI generated website that give a similar bulletpoint presentation of what search item X is according to the AI that generated the site.

I used to self-host searxng for a while, but somehow the search results were always off and mixed with to much non-relevant results :/.
I mean, getting non-relevant results happens with every search engine anymore.
The days of your search results being relevant, and what you want on the first page, are long dead thanks to SEO and other factors.

Which infuriates me as a LotR fan.
and also makes me side eye Chris Tolkien hard, cause he is normally very aggressive in protecting the intellectual property…

If you have to create a wikipedia alternative to stop being fact checked, then maybe you are just fuckin wrong.
Billionaires: “No, No… I can’t be wrong. I’m Rich! I’ll create a microcosm of information that warps reality to make sure I’m right!”
Conservapedia: Wait…thats what I was for… what about me?!

I know all about EA’s sellout.

the problem is that the overwhelming majority of gamers are short sighted little gremlins who need constant access to new shiny to feel validated.
Sure, they come on the internet to yell and scream about the horrid injustice of it all, but the second the vile evil company that they’ll never again support releases their next game… they are at gamestop preordering the 800 dollar super legendary edition.
There are people who actually do follow through, I am one of them… There are several companies on my shit list that I will never buy from again, and in over a decade have not bought from them. . . but people that actually follow through on it are too rare to make a difference.

What game is this? so I know what company to never buy from again.

how much do these places pay to make their apps into terminal cancer that cant be excised.
I don’t recall ever seeing an add on prime videos.
Then again, I don’t dip my internet wick without protection, either.
