Theres so much variety to India in general, it’s a huge country and people forget that big countries with a wide spread have a lot of diversity within their own populations. I dont think we do a good job explaining that when we are in school, how huge countries arent like one enormous monoculture but a collection of a mosaic of people who all fall belong under a flag but are distinct and unique from region to region.

Everybody starts somewhere! But typically butter chicken and chicken korma is like “white people” indian food (not a thing wrong with that it’s just the good standard babys first indian food plate to try, its a crowd pleaser and usually not as spicy)

Some of us out here are raised in spiceless white families. I was like 16 when I had cumin for the first time, i still remember where and when I was it was so mind blowing. My mom doesnt even use black pepper :') paprika is “too spicy”

Ive been experimenting with more indian vegetarian dishes as meat gets more expensive and lemme tell you even the imported spice mixes or sauce mixes at “mild” are like taking my life in my hands. Indian and indonesian people are on a whooooole other level of spice tolerance.

Bro if you are just trying masala for the first time you are in for a real treat
Get you some paneer tikka masala. Trust me. Heavy cream/yoghurt stirred in will help with the heat.

If it’s any consolation their ban evasion filter glitched/bugged into flagging me so I cant even make new accounts on a new device let alone a new account in general because their digital fingerprinting is invasive as fuck and their ban evasion filter is automated and all their appeals on it are also automated. Straight up just a bug, i dont even know how it happened. Cant even report the bug cause its all done via subreddit.
And now you need an account to even browse so RIP us :')
