This latest update messed up the experience on sideberry extension too. Now there’s a big chunky section whose only purpose is to display the name of the extension lol.
I settled with the default Firefox UI. After a few years ob absolutely weird decisions the UI doesn’t really suck that much anymore. Except with the recent update the extremely rounded corners were introduced which are looking absolutely ugly.
The tabs look more like pills now.

Maybe it’s time to whip out the
userChrome.cssagain.Urg…I hate that.
For anyone that needs it -
- Enter about:config in the address bar.
- Accept the warning.
- Search for browser.nova.enabled.
- Set it to false.
Love you man… err… carrot? I mean, people like you make the World better place. When it was released, i could not find a fix for this. And now, BAM, out of nowhere, solution came when I was doom scrolling on toilet. Again, love you!

I love you too, citizen.
Thanks, that’s great! Much better! Let’s hope this option will be available for a long time.
… disable auto-updates. You’re gonna have a better time.

Who updates their software by not using the system’s package manager? This is madness!
(Yes, I understand the idea, but not updating is just not an option.)
Madness?
THIS. IS. WINDOWS!!! kicks into pit
(so, no update IS update)
Yea I’m sure it will be around forever like the other killer features that Firefox have had over the years and not punted to an extension for the community to maintain. (I still use panorama!)
Omg do you have a working panorama addon that doesn’t hog CPU like crazy? Please share, I’ve been looking for it for years. I’ve tried all the addons I could find but they either didn’t work as the original panorama or had an unacceptable CPU overhead.
Not trying to laugh at your suffering, but your title reminded me of motherfucking website.
Hehe, but I actually reference my title to “motherfucking snake on this motherfucking plane”
In case anyone here is not aware, you can inspect the browser UI like you can inspect webpages, by using the Browser Toolbox: https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/devtools-user/browser_toolbox/index.html
Unfamiliar with this, how do you get OPs toolbar using this toolbox?
Basically, you can write a CSS file to override the stylings that Firefox uses in its UI. So, you can’t edit the basic HTML-like structure, but yeah, you can do a lot with CSS.
Probably best resource to read up on this: https://www.userchrome.org/
There’s also a community here on Lemmy: !FirefoxCSS@fedia.ioIf you want precisely the layout that OP has, they’d have to post their CSS file…
This is why I always refuse to accept those “just edit the usercss to workaround your problem” - yeah and then It’s going to be a huge headache with the useless ui updates
I wish they have a “static theme” and normal theme that didn’t change with updates
Has that been suggested?
Like if the Firefox devs are accepting suggestions or listening to complaints
the new theme is hideous. thankfully easy to disable …for now.
I wonder I if I can disable it on mobile. I don’t see why I’d want a pink tabs bar.
Why are tabs so wide/broad? Why does the active tab need the “AI” coloring outline? Tried to figure out how to revert these for an hour last night, I’m not very good…
my distribution still hasn’t pushed it out yet – thank god!
sorry for rude language
It’s ok, Firefox updates also make me mad
